Taylor Swift removed her songs from Donald Trump's TikTok account after the president's campaign used her music in videos mocking the singer. The removals included the tracks Red and august.
Trump's TikTok team posted a video using Red, from her 2012 album of the same name, accompanied by a mock-up of the album cover. The image replaced a close-up portrait of Swift wearing her signature red lipstick with a picture of Trump wearing his signature red MAGA cap, and featured a faux playlist titled 'Red (Donald Trump's Version)'.
The message on the post read, 'Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party'. By Saturday midday, the audio track was removed and a pop-up note stated, 'This sound isn't available.'
The Daily Mail reached out to a representative for Swift and the White House for comment, but has not yet received a response. The removal followed a similar incident with a Team Trump video posted four days ago.
That clip featured Swift's song august and showed the backs of Trump, 80, and First Lady Melania Trump, 56, watching fireworks. Swift's new husband was recently criticised for his 'dad bod'.

Text on the fireworks image read, 'Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.' The post included the message, 'I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!' along with the hashtags #taylorswift, #maga and #august.
By Friday night, the august audio was replaced with a message reading, 'The copyright owner hasn't made this sound available in your country.' The removal occurred shortly after Swift's 'fairytale' wedding, which left some guests 'weirded out.'
The track august appears on the singer and songwriter's 2020 Folklore album. It is a bittersweet song about a fleeting summer romance told from the perspective of a fictional teenage girl named Augustine. Swift, 36, now owns the copyright to all her songs and recordings, including august and Red, after officially regaining ownership of her original master recordings in May 2025 following a six-year battle.
Fans react to audio takedowns
Fans celebrated the removals in the comments section of the videos. One user wrote, 'TAYLOR REMOVING THE AUDIO QUEEEEEEN,' while another commented, 'TAYLOR QUEEN SWIFT.' A third applauded, 'TAYLOR REMOVED THE SOUND HAHAHA.'
A fourth chimed in, 'She removed it, clocked you guys.' Another Swiftie teased, 'Hahahahaha you messed with the wrong successful woman,' and another added, 'I hope taylor swift sues you and wins.'
The Trump campaign previously used Swift's music on TikTok in November last year. A video featuring the track Father Figure was removed, while another clip from November using The Fate of Ophelia remains active on the audio track.
History of political feud
The tension between Trump and Swift began in October 2018 when the pop star endorsed Democratic candidates in Tennessee. Trump responded by saying he liked her music '25 percent less.'
The conflict escalated in September 2024 when Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president on Instagram. Swift stated she was voting for Harris because 'she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.'
Trump retaliated on his Truth Social account with a post reading, 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!' The president adopted a softer tone when Swift became engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in August 2025.
Trump said he wished them 'a lot of luck,' calling Kelce a 'great player' and Swift a 'terrific person,' despite their ongoing political discord.
Last month, shortly after a Madison Square Garden billboard lit up with 'JUST&T MARRIED' to announce the wedding, official White House accounts on X and Instagram posted an AI-generated image. The picture included the text 'TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT' alongside the caption, 'IT’S HAPPENED!!!'
