Actress Blake Lively has shared photos on Instagram of her family outing with husband Ryan Reynolds at a recent Liverpool Football Club versus Wrexham AFC soccer match at Yankee Stadium. On Friday, the 38-year-old actress posted a carousel featuring 49-year-old Reynolds, their children, and friends at the July 29 game.
Lively wrote in an accompanying caption that the experience was "one of the most surreal moments of this wild and beautiful ride." The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star added, "Thank you to all our friends, family and Wrexham loved ones who came out to cheer on this extraordinary team and for those who have been there all along."
The couple, who have been married since 2012, put on a loved-up display throughout the images taken by photographer Guy Aroch. The smiley, united front from Lively and Reynolds comes amid a rift between the actress and her former best friend, 36-year-old Taylor Swift. The strained friendship is rumored to have cost Lively an invitation to Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce, which was held on July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
Friendship Rift and Legal Battle
The close relationship between Lively and Swift was negatively affected last year during Lively's legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star and director. In December 2024, Lively named Baldoni in a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and intentional infliction of emotional stress.
Swift was dragged into the drama when Baldoni's legal team subpoenaed Lively for text messages, emails, and any other messages between her and the singer. Defense lawyers were permitted to review the text trail, which included an exchange where Lively appeared to refer to herself as the Game of Thrones character Khaleesi and to Swift as one of her dragons.
Baldoni's filing also included a claim that Swift was present at a meeting convened by Lively at her New York penthouse to discuss script changes. Sources close to Swift insisted the singer had no prior knowledge of the meeting and simply arrived to find it underway, reportedly leaving her feeling exploited.
Lawsuit Settlement and Impact on Family
Lively and Baldoni reached a settlement two weeks before their scheduled May 18 trial date. The shock deal came after a judge gutted Lively's 2024 sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit by tossing out her key allegations in April.
Years before the legal drama, Swift was named godmother to Lively and Reynolds' three daughters: 11-year-old James, nine-year-old Inez, and six-year-old Betty. The couple also share a three-year-old son named Olin.
Amid the fallout with their mother, the pop singer is said to have cut ties with the children. A source told Daily Mail that the music artist had no choice other than to remove herself from the kids' lives, sharing, "It was very emotional because she loves the girls. It hurt her heart, but she had no choice given the circumstances."
