A 50-year-old Southwest Airlines flight attendant from Oklahoma has been found dead at a hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. Local news outlet Hawaii News Now reported that Jenny Lupton died following an incident at the resort location.
The tragedy occurred on August 20 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village hotel. Relatives were informed that Lupton allegedly fell from the 24th floor of the building and landed in a trash bin. Her family has since requested that the state attorney general conduct a more thorough investigation, stating that they consider the circumstances surrounding her death to be suspicious.
Lupton's nephew said that on the day before the incident occurred, his aunt had gotten a tattoo of a hibiscus flower and spoke with her mother about returning home to Oklahoma. He added that she has a 15-year-old son who is her whole world.
Police examine footage and evidence
The Honolulu Police Department said officers are working closely with the flight attendant's family during the inquiry. Detectives are currently conducting witness interviews, reviewing security camera footage, and examining physical evidence collected from the scene.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that they have not yet formed any conclusions regarding the exact circumstances of Lupton's death.
The state attorney general serves as Hawaii's chief law enforcement officer, with authority to review major criminal matters and public safety investigations across the islands.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is a major oceanfront property on the island of Oahu, featuring multiple high-rise guest towers. Southwest Airlines, which is based in Dallas, Texas, is one of the largest passenger carriers in the United States and operates regular flights connecting mainland cities to Hawaii.
The incident follows a separate recent case in which an Italian flight attendant died under mysterious circumstances after falling from a balcony in Austria. In that case, the woman was inside an apartment with her 27-year-old boyfriend at the time of her fall.
