An extract from an imminent Star Wars merchandise release has provided new details about the future of Shin Hati in Ahsoka Season 2. Played with cold intensity by Ivanna Sakhno, the secondary character carved out her place in the Star Wars galaxy with a perforated gaze and unpredictable energy, distinct from returning favorites from Rebels or Clone Wars.
Viewers last saw Shin on Peridea after her master, Baylan Skoll, left her behind while pursuing a cryptic mission fueled by the strength. According to new information in the product text, "Shin Team with Robri bandits on Peridea and resume his hunt for Sabine and Ezra. Without Baylan to temperate it, Shin’s impulsiveness could lead to difficult scenarios on the remote planet in which it is blocked."
The merchandise text further addresses the character's background and ambiguity, stating: "His master Baylan was once a Jedi, but Shin never trained in the temple. His background is a mystery. Baylan trains her as if it were a Jedi, but without necessarily adhering to the Jedi code or brandishing the light side of the strength. Shin is not only on a physical journey across the desolate plains of Peridea, but is also in the middle of a full-blown identity crisis. With Baylan out of the picture, conditions on the remote planet could become disordered as she operates without her master.
Casting updates and production timeline
Following the tragic disappearance of Ray Stevenson, Rory McCann of Game of Thrones will enter the role of Baylan Skoll. Stevenson left a strong impression during his single season, leaving great boots to be filled both literally and spiritually for anyone continuing the character arc.
