Russian Tourists Involved in Antalya Airport Bus Crash

A tarmac shuttle bus carrying Russian tourists collided with an airport ground services vehicle at Antalya Airport in Turkey, according to the Telegram channel Shot.

The collision occurred as the shuttle was transporting passengers from their aircraft to the terminal building. The travelers had arrived on a Turkish Airlines flight from Moscow, with more than 200 passengers on board the flight.

As the airport ground services vehicle drove toward the oncoming bus, the two vehicles crashed into each other. Passengers inside the shuttle fell on top of one another during the impact, but serious injuries were avoided among the tourists.

Two drivers involved in the incident were injured and taken to hospital. Emergency responders provided medical assistance to one of the drivers directly on the road adjacent to the crash site.

Tarmac operations at Antalya Airport

Antalya Airport is an international aviation hub located on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, serving as one of the country's busiest entry points for foreign vacationers. Apron shuttle buses are regularly used at the airport to ferry passengers across airfield service lanes between remote aircraft parking stands and terminal gates.

Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Turkey, operates extensive international connections linking Russian airports, including Moscow, with major Turkish resort areas. Apron service vehicles operate across busy tarmac corridors to support aircraft maintenance, baggage handling, and passenger transfers.

Previous road crash in the resort region

The airport incident follows a separate traffic accident in the same Turkish resort area that left 17 people injured. In that earlier crash, an excursion bus traveling from Alanya collided with vehicles that were stopped at a traffic light waiting for the signal to turn green.

Alanya is a major resort city in Antalya Province, where holiday tour buses frequently transport international travelers along coastal highways connecting hotel districts, local landmarks, and regional transportation links.
