Telegram channel Shot named Rostov-on-Don the capital of Russia's porn industry after studying the origins of actresses working in the adult genre.
Shot calculated that at least 17 active porn actresses came from Rostov-on-Don. That count puts the city ahead of Moscow, which has 10 adult film actresses, and St. Petersburg, which has 11.
Models from Rostov-on-Don also led in online popularity. Their accounts accumulated more than half a billion combined views, which is nearly double the view count gathered by models from St. Petersburg.
Most actresses in the adult genre prefer working abroad. Shot reported that performers most frequently relocate to Bali and Thailand.
Deception case involving OnlyFans
The report follows earlier news that Ukrainian adult content managers deceived blogger Diana Shurygina. Shurygina, who gained notoriety after appearing on the television show Let Them Talk, was promised account promotion on OnlyFans and a villa in Bali for video shoots.
Shurygina agreed to the deal and filmed two adult videos. She later came under criminal investigation for the distribution of pornography.
