The fourth edition of the Premios Somos gastronomy awards opened on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Pedro de Osma Museum in Barranco. Guests and key figures from the local culinary scene gathered on the red carpet starting at 7:00 p.m. ahead of the official announcement of the winners.
Viewers can watch the red carpet arrivals live through the official digital platforms of the newspaper El Comercio and Somos magazine on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The pre-gala broadcast highlights chefs, specialized content creators, and representatives from the various culinary establishments competing in this year's event.
Public voting and categories
The Premios Somos gala first began in 2023 and includes 37 public-voted categories for the 2026 edition. Organizers recorded more than 28,000 votes cast by the public between May 27 and July 26. Among the public award categories are Best Bakery, Best Specialty Coffee Shop in Peru, and Best Nikkei Restaurant.
Specialized jury awards
In addition to the public awards, a specialized jury featuring Marissa Chiappe, Hirka Roca Rey, and Laura Graner evaluated select honors for the ceremony. The jury will select the winners for Best Restaurant, Best Male Chef, Best Female Chef, Best New Restaurant, and Best Dining Room Service.
