Haris Skafidas and Nikos Soldatos have opened Pet Nat, a minimal natural wine enoteca on Megalou Alexandrou Street near the Peristeri Metro station. The venue derives its name from the French phrase Pétillant Naturel, which means natural sparkling wine.
Skafidas and Soldatos also own the popular spot Kika on Aimiliou Veaki Street. Located at 6 Megalou Alexandrou Street in Athens, the small establishment features outdoor tables covered in white tablecloths for after-office drinks.
The winemaking technique was reportedly discovered by accident in the 16th century by a monk who noticed bubbles in his wine. Wine producer Christian Chaussard was later credited with popularizing the method during the 1990s in the Loire region.
Wine Selection and Menu Items
Inside, the interior decoration focuses on metal elements. Italian cured meats hang behind the counter above a red slicing machine that cuts portions to order. Shelves hold bottles of olive oil, canned goods, olive jars, and wooden racks for wine bottles.
The wine menu highlights Greek producers with pet nat, orange, white, and red varieties. Featured options include Lagorthi from mountainous Aigialeia, Limniona, Fokiano, and volcanic wines from Lemnos. Guests can scan a QR code to access detailed information about each label.
Food options include crostini toasted to order, cheeses, Italian cured meats, and prosciutto pinsa prepared with light dough. The menu also includes spritz cocktails and negronis.
