The United States Department of Defense has published its fifth batch of secret documents on unidentified flying objects, CBS News reported.
On Friday, August 7, 41 new declassified files featuring witness accounts of UFOs were posted in a dedicated section on the official website of the Pentagon. The published records contain photographic and video evidence provided by military and intelligence authorities.
Federal Agency Submissions
The witness accounts, photographs, and video materials were supplied by several United States federal entities. These include the Department of Defense, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of State, and the administration of United States President Donald Trump.
CBS News specifically highlighted the timeframe of the released materials. The oldest document included in the new collection is dated 1950, while the newest file in the compilation is dated 2026.
July Release Details
The release follows an earlier publication of declassified UFO material by the Pentagon in July. In that previous release, the defense department made 40 classified files available to the public.
That July collection consisted of 14 documents, 19 video clips, 4 audio files, and 3 images.
