La Bella Luz owner Oscar Custodio said he cannot confirm claims that former musical director Cesar Sanchez Chavesta had an affair with singer Naldy Saldana. Saldana previously reported Sanchez Chavesta to authorities for improper touching during her time with the musical group.
Custodio, who is also the cousin of Sanchez Chavesta, addressed the allegations during an appearance on the television show Magaly TV: la firme. He stated that he does not share the version of events presented by his relative's wife and has no personal knowledge of any secret romance between the two.
The orchestra owner explained that he has not witnessed anything to support the claim of an affair. He said he cannot accept statements regarding a relationship when he has no first hand knowledge of the situation.
Claims of a secret relationship
The comments followed an interview on the same program with Mary Meza, the wife of Sanchez Chavesta for 32 years. Meza broke her silence to claim that her husband and Saldana maintained a clandestine relationship for two years, arguing that the recorded touching was consensual rather than abusive.
Meza did not present any evidence during the broadcast to back up her assertions. She said that while she felt indignant as a woman, the video footage presented by the former singer reflected an ongoing situation that had been happening for two years.
Custodio stated that he remains fully available to collaborate with authorities conducting investigations into the complaint against his cousin. He added that he already holds an official summons to provide testimony as the legal head of the company.
