Noah Kahan revealed he is working on new music during an appearance at the 2026 Emmy Awards on September 14, though the singer stopped short of sharing details.
"I can't tell you any more, really, but yeah, we've got something. I got that thing on me right now," Kahan told Keltie Knight during Live From E!: 2026 Emmys. "I got something in the works."
The 29-year-old, dressed in a black tuxedo with a brooch, joked that his publicist would "throw me into the trash can over there" if he said too much. He added that he was "very excited about what we have" and called the opportunity "a really cool" one.

Kahan took the stage at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles later in the ceremony, performing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" during the Emmys' In Memoriam segment. The awards show was hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
"I think it's a perfect song to encapsulate the hope that comes with so many of the people that we lost this year," Kahan said. "The bright lights we've lost: Dolly [Parton], Catherine [O'Hara], so many incredible artists."
"I think the song speaks to the hope and love that they brought to the world," he continued. "And I'm going to try to kind of give some of that back with a song tonight."

Kahan is a singer-songwriter best known for his 2022 album "Stick Season" and its title track, which helped establish him as one of folk-pop's most streamed artists. He has since earned a Grammy nomination and released the single "Orbiter." His Emmys appearance capped what E! News described as an especially strong year for the musician.
Turning 30
The Emmys performance arrived as Kahan prepares for his 30th birthday on January 1. He said he is ready to leave his 20s behind.
"I just want to get it over with," he said. "Hangovers last five days. I gain 11 pounds every time I eat a f--king french fry. I would love to just get to 30, where it all feels like I'm old now instead of this fake young thing I'm going with right now."
"I look 40," he added. "I might as well be 30."
