Spider-Man: No Way Home actress Mary Rivera has died in Honolulu at the age of 82. Rivera passed away on April 15, but news of her death became known only recently.

According to People, Rivera died following a stroke. After suffering the stroke, the actress entered a coma and was placed on life support, which her family later chose to disconnect.

Spider-Man Role and Career

Her role as the Philippine grandmother of Ned Leeds, played by Jacob Batalon, was one of the most memorable of her career. On set, she appeared alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, Tobey Maguire and Jamie Foxx.

Rivera had often said she was proud of the role and of representing Philippine culture to a broad audience. Following news of her death, fans posted condolences and thanked her for her work in the Marvel franchise.
