Wintering: 17 venues with Asian cuisine

Wintering: 17 venues with Asian cuisine

The closer the New Year is, the more often we remember Asia. Many are accustomed to wintering there, sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the ocean and eating exotic fruits.

But if the cold has started (and they’ve already started) and you’re still here, you can glorify the trip by going to a restaurant.

Ramen, rolls, bowls, tom pits, bibimbaps – in general, everything sour, sweet, spicy at once or separately. It’s almost as if you’ve visited all of Southeast Asia – from Korea to Thailand and back.

The Fashion Vibes columnist Anya Baturina studied the prices of Asian tickets for the New Year holidays and the menu of Moscow restaurants. And I came to the conclusion that for this money you can go to a new restaurant several times a day on all holidays and still stay a little for the solarium.

Avalanche Chive

panasya

Chow Chow includes Southeast Asian dishes (mostly Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese), the menu is not huge and regular updates are planned. Here you can find pad thai noodles, dim sum, fool, pho-bo, broken cucumber and tom yum (according to the classics). Asian notes are felt even in cocktails.

Pay attention to the interior – lamps made of recycled materials, natural prints, birds on the walls, dragon scales – try to find all the archetypes of Asian culture and mythology. You won’t get anything for it, but it will be interesting.

amber

Japan

Most likely, you have already heard of a restaurant with a salty wall, no, no, but a few people will lick it in the evening. By the way, they say it brings good luck (but we in no way encourage licking the walls in public).

The restaurant does not have an electric stove, deep fryer, steam combi boiler, everything is cooked on a large custom-made grill in the heart of the open kitchen. Excellent sushi, unusual rolls (for example, with mango and avocado), top hand rolls, mini tomatoes in aubergine and orange ponzu, unagi sando sandwich, wagyu kushiyaki. And just love from the appetizer section – edamame sprinkled with salty seaweed (you immediately want to have a beer, look out the icy windows and imagine the evening won’t be over for long).

Address: Tsvetnoy Boulevard, 2

redbox

Japan

Thinking of Japan and looking forward to Philadelphia and California on the menu? To forget. Red Box is ready to surprise with chef Maxim Pak’s author rolls. For example, hot rolls with tuna or shrimp according to a special recipe (the main secret is in the special preparation of nori and soft dough), green tobiko caviar with wasabi flavor, with eel and strawberries, and rolls without rice in cucumber with shrimp. Besides the wraps, there are Vietnamese pho-bo with turkey bacon and wonderful Asian spices, ramen with chicken roll, and a crispy chicken sandwich on Japanese bread.

And, of course, the famous sweet bears ripening – the already classic 18+ bears with black, gold and purple tequila jelly are added. Find an original way to deal with the bear and get off the rails – they fly to tens of thousands of views.

South Korea

JPan and the Ra’men team opened a new format Korean bistro on the site of the not-so-successful Rex bar and it faded very quickly (we hope the Korean street food on Petrovsky Avenue will get better). For inspiration and atmosphere 애교 (aegyo, aegyo is pronounced as “kawaii” but in Korean) went to South Korea as usual, eating street food and listening to k-pop.

The menu features pyanse, tofu, teokbokki, chicken, and other juicy Korean street food.

Address: Petrovsky Boulevard, 15/1

kaido

Japan

A new izakaya raw stick at Patriky that few have written about so far. They say the tuna came here on a direct flight from Japan (Thursdays) and we are jealous of it. The menu is small – about 30 dishes and they all fit on one page. One-third full of rolls, there are 13 types, classics like “Philadelphia” and “California” are not forgotten – after all, location is mandatory.

But, of course, there are also author’s ones: tuna and crab hot roll, scallop roll, truffle sauce and jalapeno, for example, salmon and tempura chip roll.

Sri Lanka

An unusual project with Sri Lankan street food and royal Sri Lankan gastro-dinners. Two friends decided to bring joy to this world (and joy is delicious food, how could a gastro-columnist think otherwise?) and after falling in love with Happiness Island Sri Lanka they decided to start a dinner party project.

Dinner consists of four portions and a story about the island’s history. The chef – Zhenya – lived there for 7 years, married a Sri Lankan, so he presents his menu with special love. It included half roti with author’s sauce, fried eggplant with green and coconut sambol, 5 types of curry and coconut milk pudding (vatalapan) with spicy caramel sauce.

Address: Evening meals are held in different venues, you must register.

Ten Bars by 10

panasya

Each part of the menu of this Pan-Asian restaurant consists of 10 dishes (all of them are numbered, you can’t count), only less dessert – only three. Good appetizers like spicy tartare, beef tataki with wasabi sauce, avocado or duck and mango salads, grilled shrimp, seafood noodles, duck legs with pak choi.

The bar list is also divided into dozens of measured categories. Twists, shots, classics and popular cocktails. If suddenly the music is too loud, it is convenient to show on the fingers of both hands what you want to order.

Address: Maroseyka, 15

Chuanyu

Chinese

Sichuan cuisine restaurant is ready to introduce you to China. As the coronavirus (which we easily forgot) continues to rage out there, you can replace a trip to the Celestial Empire with a trip to the authentic Chuanyu restaurant on Michurinsky Prospekt. There are many locals who gleefully click the duck’s foot like a seed and warm the pig.

A cauldron with constantly boiling broth is placed in the middle of the table and raw materials are served to it: marinated chicken hearts, duck blood (it resembles a gummy bear, it just has no taste), veal tripe and, more simply, beef , pork ribs, shrimp, a few mushrooms, lotus root, daikon, tofu, and a dozen more. By the way, hogo will bring bean jelly for dessert.

The restaurant has common rooms and offices for company and even dates.

Address: Michurinsky Prospekt, 7/1/2

Point Express

panasya

The corner of the famous Sochi restaurant Point Izakaya has opened in the new MDM Restomarket (from the holding of the Vasilchuk brothers). Chef Dmitry Lim came to Moscow from Krasnaya Polyana and brought with him interesting pan-Asian dishes: rolls with crab, eel and truffle sauce, sushi burger with crab and spicy tuna, escolar tartare with pineapple confit. And with any roll you can get a serving of miso soup for free.

The restoration market has an interesting concept – a cyberpunk-style interior, working robots (promoter, waiters delivering orders and picking up dirty dishes). And 16 restaurant corners.

Address: Komsomolsky pr., 28

cho

Japan

Again, Japan is not what we are used to. No bread and sushi but there are bowls, gyoza, udon, rice, crushed cucumbers, golden pancakes and Fluffy Fluffy Cotton Cheesecake.

The food is delivered so quickly that you don’t have time to chat and warm up after the street, so order slowly and not appetizers-hot-sweet-sake in one breath.

Address: St. Myasnitskaya 13, building 2

black thai

Thailand

For those who can’t imagine winters without tom pits, Black Thai is definitely worth checking out. Here, of course, not the classic Thai, but a very creative fantasy on the subject: for example, tom yum rice porridge with tiger shrimp, Thai paella with yellow curry and seafood, chopped Thai ribeye or Bangkok picanha.

Address: Kutuzovsky prospekt, 2/1, building 1

Turandot

panasya

Rarely, when discussing “Turandot”, one cannot fail to note its inappropriately luxurious interior. But you will have to try, because it fits perfectly in the choice of places with Pan-Asian cuisine. Chef Dmitry Eremeev has been in charge of the kitchen for 14 years, but Chinese chefs led by Chiang Wai Chong (chef from Singapore) were stunned by the Asian direction. All dishes are adapted to the European taste, so you can safely order any dish from the menu. Even dim sum with escargot, even sea bass with tom-kha sauce, even Peking duck with homemade pancakes and black caviar.

However, we admit that we also have a lot of photos of these palace interiors on our phone: the Porcelain Hall, the Florence courtyard, the private offices and, let’s not scatter, the stucco molded dome in the central hall which is breathtaking. We ate too – you can have a look around.

LilacAsian

panasya

Author’s Panasia in a beautiful and concise interior. I love the collection of junk food, author’s sushi and rolls in one menu, and they don’t forget about the interesting servings. They also have delicious dim sums, Singapore laksa, octopus, fried rice and roti in different variations.

Plus, of course, sake, wine, and cocktails from the Insider bar team with their own lab. You can also look there after dinner, but you need to make a reservation and follow the dress code (no slippers, alligators, hats, leggings and hoodies).

J’Pan

Japan

Japanese bistro without sushi and rolls. But here they cook what the Japanese eat in everyday life – donburi, ramen, curry, tonkatsu, takoyaki. You can eat a delicious meal and improve your Japanese by memorizing the names of the dishes (suddenly the knowledge will come in handy, they say, Japan Airlines is already negotiating the opening of flights to Russia).

In the meantime, you can try J’Pan fermented natto beans (sweet-salty, sticky, sticky). In general, they look tasteless, reminiscent of your traditional winter runny nose, but the Japanese love to eat them for breakfast, and a few of our friends also liked it. And if you come at a popular time – for lunch or after work, be prepared for the fact that there may be a queue at the entrance.

Address: Trubnaya st., 21// Myasnitskaya 22/1// Zabelina, 1

ramen

Japan

The menu of the ramen bar on Tsvetnoy Avenue includes several types of noodles (with or without broth – these are mezmen), snacks, very cute desserts and cocktails. What else do you need for a good evening! But you can’t stay too long – the speed of serving food is kind of cosmic.

And there are delicious cocktails, bright produce, and noisy parties (sometimes they pour for free for cool costumes).

Address: Tsvetnoy Blvd., 21, p. 7

[KU:]

Japan

Izakaya [KU:] – Already a classic for Moscow. They go to such establishments after work in Japan, in Moscow – at any time of the day (do you sometimes get the feeling that people are not working?). We don’t know if anyone still doesn’t know that you have to come here for divine ramen and very, very early Japanese breakfasts that start at 7am but only start in the City. If you’re suddenly not yet, add it to your list of must-visit places.

Address: Smolenskaya st., 8 // B. Gruzinskaya st., 69 // Presnenskaya nab., 10, building 2

Restaurant by Deep Fried Friends

Various

Frankly, the kitchen at DFF is different, just like its creators. But the main thing people come here besides cocktails is the Japanese sandwich katsu sando a la pozharski. And recently, chef Anton Kovalkov (I want to put a heart here) organized a Thai brunch, in which classic recipes are mixed with Anton’s personal memories of the trip. It had everything from street food to classics like tom yam and pad thai.

If you can try katsu sando any day, brunch was a temporary promotion. But Anton promised to repeat! Stay tuned (we want more too).
