“Roman Holiday” (1953)

A must-see classic with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The young princess Anna arrives in Rome for an official visit, and although her days are scheduled to the minute, she longs for freedom and flees the palace. Only she does not know that shortly before the escape, the doctor injected her with sleeping pills, because the princess fell asleep on the bench where she was found by the American journalist Joe Bradley. Early in the morning, on the editor’s instructions, he must be at a press conference with Princess Anne, whom he has never seen.


Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

An all-time romantic comedy starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. This is a story about how a boy helps his widowed father find love again, and only one of the hundreds who respond realizes that he and the boy’s father were made for each other. Jim Jarmusch’s (“Only Lovers Left Alive”) detective drama centers on an elderly Don Juan who one day receives a letter that he has a grown son. On the advice of a familiar detective, he decides to remember and visit all his girlfriends for 20 years. It stars Bill Murray, Sharon Stone, Tilda Swinton and Chloë Sevigny. And the movie actually has a great soundtrack, as with any Jarmusch movie.

After a night out on July 15, Em and Dex meet on the same day every year. Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in a melodrama about love transported through time.


“The Habit of Breaking Up” (2013)

A domestic air comedy about a girl who cannot arrange her personal life and is looking for an answer to why all her relationships are not working out, she decides to meet with all the exes. For what? To honestly ask what’s what. And still find love.


“She” (2013)

A captivating fantasy drama starring Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams and Rooney Mara, which won an Oscar for Best Screenplay. The action takes place in the future and tells about a lonely writer who buys a new technical development (an operating system designed to fulfill any user’s desire) and falls in love with it. After watching it, you can ask if you would like it if you were an artificial intelligence.


“La La Land” (2016)

Golden Globes triumphant (seven figurines!), starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. The love story of an aspiring actress and a fanatical jazz musician begins to ruin their relationship’s long-awaited success. You both will have something to think about.


“Paterson” (2016)

Paterson’s (Adam Driver) life is full of romance: he works as a bus driver and writes poems for the desk in his spare time, not even dreaming of being published. This continues until an event changes their plans.


“Last Lovers” (2016)

The sensual melodrama with Anton Yelchin was filmed (and it has its own charm). This is the story of how the lives of a French woman and an American were completely changed in just one night spent in the northern Portuguese city of Porto.


“Get Out” (2017)

The satirical horror of Jordan Peele meeting the parents of a girlfriend doesn’t bode well for this main character (Daniel Kaluuya, by the way). He is a young black photographer from New York and his family belong to the elite white community and live in a secluded country house. And if he knew the real reason for the invitation, he would never have accepted this trip.

Nicholas Hoult in a romantic drama about love in the age of dating apps. A chance meeting of the main characters one night shouldn’t have changed anything, but something went wrong. And a quick acquaintance turned into a serious relationship, for which, as it turned out, neither he nor she was ready.


“Four Weddings and a Funeral” (2019)

A remake of the famous romantic comedy that started Hugh Grant’s career in the ’90s. The plot revolves around four American friends who meet at a wedding in London and things don’t go according to plan. And after the broken ceremony comes a crazy year when friends wait for getting involved in a political scandal, breaking relationships and new love.


“Private Life” (2020 – …)

An anthology of the romantic adventures of New Yorkers. From the timid crush to the final chords of a love song – is it possible to find true romance in our cynical times?


Malcolm and Marie (2021)

A black and white melodrama starring John David Washington and Zendaya about a difficult evening for an aspiring director and his girlfriend. A “serious conversation” cannot be avoided after this movie, we warn you right away.
