Would you like to stay in a castle or a tree house? We bring you four different getaways for December’s bridge

Christmas is just around the corner, but before that we have two more holidays: the 6th (Constitution Day) and the 8 (Immaculate Conception Day). Since the dates are quite close, traveling within the territory is a good option for not spending much on transportation if you want to get away from it all.

The options are very wide, in Spain we have cities, towns and landscapes that are worth getting to know. For this reason, we have created different travel categories so that you can find the one that best suits what you are looking for. In recent years, new ways of imagining travel have developed and, in turn, avant-garde spaces that adapt to the demands of tourists. An example of this is ‘The Social Hub’, a perfect accommodation for those looking to meet people and be inspired by their travels, it is a place to build community and enjoy. Facilities include rooftop bars and pools, lounge areas, to collaborate for clients, colleagues and local residents, rooms for stays from one night to one year, and meeting rooms for businesses and local events. They currently have two new properties in Barcelona and Madrid.

We bring you other travel options in the form of cultural tourism, gastronomic tourism, nature tourism and rural tourism. Below we develop each of these and leave you some proposals.

Located in the creative and innovative heart of the city, Barcelona’s new hub is located just behind the Diagonal Norte, in the “it” district and the Poblenou district. Poblenou also hosts some of the city’s most exciting events, such as Palo Alto, a monthly second-hand market that combines fashion, music, entertainment and street food. You can experience culture in this space, because you can attend conferences, reading clubs or language lessons.

The city of Barcelona is a perfect choice for cultural tourism, as it hosts all kinds of exhibitions, from the most classical to the most avant-garde, as well as internationally renowned architecture, such as the buildings of the beautiful Gothic Quarter or the creations of Gaudi.

Trying recipes and products from other places is one of the most sought after experiences by travelers, a good place to put it into practice is the city of San Sebastián. In the old part of the city, there is such a density of bars that you can try all kinds of food and pintxos, discovering a place full of charm.

The Zenit San Martin Monastery It is a good option to stay in the city, it is located less than 100 meters from the Paseo Marítimo and La Concha beach, in the heart of San Sebastián. The building has a special beauty, as it has the classical facade of an old monastery and the main hall is a beautifully restored monastery chapel.

A few years ago, the concept of a tree house as a hotel emerged and some brands have managed to develop this very well, an example is basoa suites, who has placed suites high above the trunks of hundred-year-old oaks. Part of the experience is that they serve your breakfast in a basket that you bring to the suite by means of a pulley. The place where it is located is in the Orgi forest, in Navarra.

If you want to feel like you’re part of the Game of Thrones cast, Sigüenza is the perfect place. It’s small, but it has a lot of history and charm. In addition, it has a hostel in a beautiful, well-preserved Arab fortress, dating back to the 12th century.
