Another quarter (25%) choose to stay instead of traveling abroad to reduce their carbon footprint by flying less. Two-fifths (40%) say they will also be looking for cheaper travel options this year and more than half (55%) admit that this is due to the current crisis and rising cost of living. As a result, more than half (53%) say they would rather invest their holiday spending in local UK economies than abroad. Other reasons for choosing host families over traveling abroad include relieving stress from travel interruptions (51%), the fact that summers are getting warmer in the UK (26%) and saving money (25%).

Ashley Andrew, general manager of Hyundai Motor UK. “The whole experience demonstrates the usefulness of this groundbreaking technology and we hope the concept will inspire more people to go off-grid,” he added.
The Ioniq 5 can power the hotel and its experiences through its V2L function, which provides alternating current (110/200 V) for up to 3.6 kW of consumption. A car adapter provides a power outlet to which standard household appliances can be connected.

The climate emergency we are experiencing is becoming more urgent and its effects are becoming more tangible every day. It is Hyundai’s maxim to contribute to building a future in harmony with the environment through sustainable mobility products and pollution-free progress.
With its Progress for Humanity business philosophy always on the horizon, Hyundai has a clear roadmap for sustainability with two key dates: 2035, the year when all vehicles sold in Europe will be zero-emissions, and 2045 when the company will operate in all the markets where it is present. . This vision continues through the commitment to have reduced CO2 emissions to 75% below 2019 figures by 2040.
Hyundai’s strategy to decarbonise its range is based on three pillars: clean mobility, next-generation platforms and green energy. Hydrogen will play a key role in this last point, which aims to reduce dependence on highly polluting fossil fuels. Hyundai has more than 20 years of experience in developing and applying this technology in the mobility sector and precisely as a leader in the field, Hyundai is preparing to fully dive into this source of clean and sustainable energy, where the use of hydrogen is not only the automotive industry, but also in other sectors, promote the “Hydrogen Society” and strive to make this energy available “to everyone, to everything and everywhere”.
