While we wait for next Monday to watch the new episode of House of the Dragon, here is another drama that will brighten the night. Not so long ago, Netflix released “The Devil in Ohio,” a dark detective story that’s perfect for a dreary fall mood.
In an Ohio city, a lost teenage girl runs away from a cornfield, frightened and bloodied, on the road. May (that’s the name of the main character) is taken to the nearest hospital, where she is examined by a psychiatrist. Suzanne Mathis (known for her role in “Bones”) notices a strange pentagram carved into the girl’s back and decides to take May home for a while to find a foster family in the future. The psychiatrist’s family is dissatisfied with his decision to adopt a strange and scary girl.
Mei stays with the Mathis family for a while, being accepted into the school, but even there she is treated with suspicion and concern. It seems that May fell into the hands of sectarians who worshiped Lucifer and made real sacrifices.
By the way, the plot is based on the novel of the same name by Daria Polatin, inspired by a true story. The series only has eight episodes, so this is a great option for the coming evenings!
