The new Turkish series “Better than you”: the main character is similar to Serkan Bolat, and the plot will not last 100 episodes

Another love drama, built against the backdrop of undisclosed family secrets of the main characters, accompanied by constant intrigues and tests of strength. There are enough complex details of the plot and beautiful actors. If you miss the dialogues of Eda and Serkan Bolat, this series should be at the top of your to-do list this fall.

A predictable story you can’t put down

Whatever fans of Turkish TV series we are, it’s time to admit something – all their plots are eerily obvious. Here, for example, he tells the love story of two doctors who, you guessed it, wanted to be together but couldn’t. Efsun is a promising dermatologist who loves her job wholeheartedly at a provincial hospital, and Emir is a narcissistic plastic surgeon at the best clinic in Istanbul. Efsun agrees to move to the city to save the family farm and starts working with the main character. They begin a romantic relationship, but it is later revealed that Emir is the adopted son of his mother, who abandoned Efsun in infancy.

Not just a love line

Oddly enough, there is not as much time for romantic scenes here as in other Turkish TV series. For example, in the first episodes there is not even a hint of a serious relationship between the main characters in the future. Rather, we’re talking about light flirting with one another, like the emergence of close friendships between two adults. Another thing is that Efsun and Emir start arguing over business issues. Then this series starts to look like Turkish “House Doctor”.

Beautiful main characters and secondary characters

We come to an important point, so this series is worth watching. The main roles went to two rising stars of Turkish cinema, Cemre Baysel and Burak Celik, who had previously acted in the films “The Game of Destiny” and “Vakif: Osman”. And it seems to us that they even look like the actors from Knock on My Door. Isn’t that the way to success?

Well, we cannot ignore the minor characters that may be familiar from other well-known projects. For example, Tuğçe Kumral, who played the role of Şirin in the series, was the star of the romantic comedy The Early Bird. Apart from the main characters reminiscent of Eda and Serkan, there are other details that suggest that More Beautiful than You is an attempt to repeat the success of Çalı Kapımı. And although the main characters do not have clichés such as memory loss or imaginary pregnancy, some scenes repeat the plots of the series with Kerem Bürsin and Hande Erçel. Get the kissing scene of Efsun and Emir, at least in the first episode. Doesn’t it remind you of something? And the character of some of the side characters is very similar to the characters from the movie “Knock on my door”.
