Which A-List line gives you a REALLY superstar look?

Which A-List line gives you a REALLY superstar look?

Not long ago, nearly every A-lister had a scent to hunt. But with perfume sales increasing during the curfew, the city has a new celebrity project: skin care products. And familiar faces on both sides of the pool are making money.

Kim Kardashian and model Hailey Bieber have launched their own series in recent months. Kylie Skin by Kylie Jenner, Honest Beauty by actress Jessica Alba and Fenty Skin by singer Rihanna are already regular customers of Boots.

This month’s show is here: Kate Moss’s Cosmoss collection of face cream, cleanser, face oil, scented mist, and a selection of supermodel’s personal grooming rituals, including a few tea bags. These “refreshing and stimulating” products are high quality products at corresponding prices.

That same week, Kate’s best friend, stylist Stella McCartney, also announced a new line of skincare products.

Stella by Stella McCartney is vegan, sustainably produced and expensive.

All this begs the question: Is celebrity skincare really worth it during a cost-of-living crisis? We are testing Serie A brands…

SUPER MODEL SELF-CARE PRICE: %S

Cosmos, Kate Moss (from £20, cosmossbykatemoss.com)

Cosmos by Kate Moss (from £20, cosmossbykatemoss.com). This range is proud

Cosmos by Kate Moss (from £20, cosmossbykatemoss.com). This range prides itself on being “simple skincare” with six products that form a well-being routine from sunrise to sunset.

Range: This range prides itself on being ‘simple skincare’ with six products that make up a wellness routine from sunrise to sunset: Energizing Dawn Tea (£20 for 20 tea bags), Sacred Mist (£120), Soothing Twilight Tea (£20) , Golden Nectar CBD & Pro Collagen Oil (£105), face cream (£95) and facial cleanser (£52).

ID information: The cream and cleanser contain bakuchiol (a plant extract similar to retinol) for rejuvenation and an Icelandic musk that is ‘An effective anti-aging’ as the packaging boldly states, while the main ingredients are CBD in oil (cannabidiol) for balance. It’s a moisturizer. it can ‘rejuvenate the skin by 20 years in our weeks’.

Product:%s: I tried the dawn tea: a spicy but rather sour start to the day with spicy hibiscus and rosemary.

I’ve gotten better with the cleanser, a recyclable tube of thick, nourishing cream that smells of rose moss and is surprisingly effective at removing eye makeup.

The collection reminds you to take care of yourself in small ways, with sensuous flavors and proven natural ingredients, but the prices seem pretty high.

decision: Beautiful merciful.

Stella McCartney star (from £38, stellamccartneybeauty.com). Natural and responsible ingredients are supplied in reusable recycled glass jars with built-in refill bags.

Range: It contains only three products: a serum, a cleanser, and a moisturizer. Natural and responsible ingredients are supplied in reusable recycled glass jars with reusable bags inside.

ID information: The fragrance of the series – a mixture of clove, pine and eucalyptus leaves – was created by cultist Francis Kurkdjian. The emphasis is on rebalancing the skin rather than eliminating wrinkles. But you can add your favorite exfoliants and retinols to this clean regimen of long-lasting concentrates.

Product:%s: Alter-Care serum, £110 (£90 for refill), is a hero product; A milky, moisturizing lotion applied only to the face, neck and eye area or under a moisturizer. It comes in a 50ml container which seems like a better investment than standard 30ml jars.

decision: For clean queens with deep pockets.

SHARE THE LOVE: COUPLES RANGE

S’Able Labs (from £28, uk.sablelabs.co)

Range: From actor Idris Elba and his model-actress wife Sabrina comes this line of gender-neutral skincare products designed by couples, including Elba (S’Able is the island of Elba on the contrary, if you didn’t guess). There are three products: a hybrid serum/toner, a moisturizer, and an exfoliating cleanser to brighten and target pigmentation spots.

ID information: The range is packed with proven active ingredients such as tranexamic acid to reduce hyperpigmentation, skin barrier-forming niacinamide and the powerful antioxidant and brightening combination of vitamin C and ferulic acid.

Product:%s: All in all impressive, hardworking and at an affordable price, especially the Qasil cleanser, which leaves my skin clean and supple and with a delicious earthy scent, £28.

decision: Sharing is thoughtful: simple and effective.

BUDGET NATURAL PRODUCTS

Honest Beauty (from £16, boots.com)

Range: Actress Jessica Alba’s range of skincare products is part of her mega global brand Honest, which often offers everything from retinol to eye creams, vitamin C serums and clay masks for £30 less.

ID information: The products are mildly effective and devoid of a “no” list of “controversial ingredients” like parabens and mineral oil.

Product:%s: Hydrogel Cream (£25) is my favorite, a day or night formula that starts out as a rich cream but magically becomes watery as it goes on, deeply hydrating without feeling greasy. It is loved by beauty editors for its excellent ability to numb the skin.

decision: Beauty that is good value for money.

Victoria Beckham, Augustine Bader (from £58, victoriabeckhambeauty.com). There are two skin care products in the series

Range: There are two skincare products available: Cell Rejuvenating Primeing Moisturizer, which starts at £58 for a 15ml bottle, and Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum, which starts at £105 for a 15ml bottle.

ID information: Victoria has had a coup d’etat linked to stem cell expert Professor Augustine Bader. The patented skin regenerating Trigger Factor Complex (TFC8) has gained worldwide fame. It is available in both products.

Product:%s: I tried the golden version of the moisturizer, which gives the skin a bronze effect and contains brightening papaya enzymes as well as plumping and toning agents.

As a primer it gives ‘hold’ to your makeup and the bronze pigments brightened my middle aged skin. Poundfor-pound, Bader’s The Cream is ‘cheaper’ than it costs £215 for 50ml, while Posh’s Moisturizer costs ‘just’ £140 for 50ml.

decision: Impressive and good under makeup.

Rose Inc, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (from £24.50, spacenk.com). The simple skincare collection includes two face serums, an eye cream, a moisturizing gel, a cleanser, and a toner.

Range: Model Rosie’s simple skincare collection includes two face serums, an eye cream, a moisturizing gel, a cleanser, and a toner.

ID information: The products are not rich in active ingredients, with the exception of the Skin Solubility Clarifying Toner (£24.50), which contains salicylic acid to unclog pores and niacinamide to minimize oiliness and redness.

Product:%s: This is a light skin care for all ages. My teenage daughter, who is as breakout prone as Rosie, enjoyed the gel moisturizer. My drier skin preferred the Radiant Reveal Brightening Serum. At £53 it’s the most expensive item, but the minerals gave an instant glow to my dull complexion.

decision: Balanced and luminous.
