What could you be missing? Let’s talk about what we saw on the air!
Part One and Two: “Shadow of the Past” and “Adrift”
The Rings of Power begins with a foreword told from the perspective of Galadriel (Morveth Clark): she recalls her childhood days when the Elves lived uneventfully. But after the rise of the Dark Lord Morgoth, their world was plunged into violent conflict, so they had to leave their home – Valinor – and sail east to Middle-earth. The bloody war with the forces of evil lasted for thousands of years, and Galadriel’s brother Finrod fell into Sauron’s hands and swore to find his murderer in revenge.

Hundreds of years have passed since then, Morgoth was defeated, Sauron and his orc army disappeared, and Galadriel reached the far reaches of Middle-earth in search of their traces, but all in vain. Finally, King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker) remembered him, along with a detachment of warriors who were home to the elven kingdom of Lindon, and gratefully gave them the highest award – the opportunity to return to Valinor and live there in peace and harmony.

True, at the last moment Galadriel refused the gift and jumped into the ocean as the ship had already passed the barrier separating Valinor from the rest of the world. Shortly after the shipwreck, he met Halbrand (Charlie Vickers), who was on the raft after the shipwreck – once forced to leave his home in the south due to the attack of the orcs, and Galadriel asked him to take him to where he saw him. them for the last time.
Together they survive the storm and the attack of the sea monster, and Galadriel miraculously survives – Halbrand saves her when she sinks, stunned by the blow. In the morning the rafts meet the ship, but it is still unknown who its rescuers are.

In parallel with this, several more stories unfold in the first chapters: one of them tells of Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova), one of the elves who preserved the human race in the south for almost a hundred years. When Gil-galad announces the end of the war, their clock is called back home, as are the others, but Arondir is held in love with the human healer Bronwen (Nazanine Boniadi).

In their last encounter, they discover a devastated village and underground labyrinths, and the explorer Arondir falls into a trap. Bronwen wants to warn the inhabitants of her village, but no one believes her, and meanwhile an orc appears in her house – together with her son Theo (Tyro Muhafidin), they manage to defeat him and Bronwen brings the army in charge. hostile to the villagers who do not believe him – there is no doubt that they are now in danger, so they leave the settlement in the morning.
Another key character in the Rings of Power is Elrond (Robert Aramayo), a young politician introduced by King Gil-galad to Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), one of the greatest Elven jewelers. The latter dreams of building a tower with a forge that can create the most powerful artifacts in history, and Elrond offers to turn to the dwarves of Khazad-Dum for help, especially since their prince Durin (Owain Arthur) is his old acquaintance.

This was the last time they saw each other 20 years ago – during which time Durin managed to get married, have children, and harbor a grudge against an old friend. As a result, they still manage to find a common language, but neither one nor the second is in a hurry to reveal their secrets.

Meanwhile, the Mohonog tribe, the harmless ancestors of the Hobbits, prepares for a seasonal migration, and their elder, Sadok Burroughs (Lenny Henry), sees bad signs everywhere. Finally, not far from the settlements, a meteorite falls, followed by Eleanor Brandyfoot aka Nori (Markella Cavena) – there, at the bottom of the crater, she finds a mysterious man who cannot speak and does not remember who he is and where he is. He’s coming, but he knows how to call.
