The cafe behind the world’s most instagrammable cake now offers coffee for $7.
Home to the famous strawberry watermelon cake, Black Star Pastry launched the bright pink drink on Thursday, right in the spring season.
According to a Bakery spokesperson, the aptly named Strawberry Watermelon Latte is made with a top secret syrup and almond milk.

“Almond milk provides the delicious layers of almond dacquoise found in the cake, while the syrup infuses notes of strawberry, watermelon, and rose-scented cream,” she said.
“A dash of rose petals, a dash of peanut powder, and a dash of scented rose water complete the topping of the original cake.”
They also made a drinking adaptation of their “moreish” Chocolate Mirage Cakes.
It is served with the milk of your choice. Rooibos tea (a staple of the Choc Mirage disc) is filtered and mixed with caramel to produce a unique butterscotch flavor.
Hazelnut syrup and hazelnut cream add sweet and toasty notes. Finally, Manjari chocolate from Madagascar adds acidity and acidity to the recipe. It is sprinkled with chocolate and gold and served with passion fruit chocolate and yuzu chocolate sunshine as seen in the cakes.
The drinks will cost $7 and will be available from September 1 at Black Star Pastry stores in Sydney and Melbourne.
Strawberry Watermelon Cake was developed by the bakery for a wedding in 2009 and has been in stores ever since.

The bakery also made a beverage adaptation of the “moreish” Chocolate Mirage Cake.

More than a million slices of strawberry watermelon cake are sold each year, after the dessert became famous when Instagram went mainstream in 2012.
