Late night Kmart shoppers explained why they went to the popular chain of stores at 1am, and it wasn’t just to avoid the crowds.
Shoppers speaking to TikTokker Daniel Du admitted that sometimes they just want to pass the time while everyone else is asleep.
Others said they took a special trip to the 24-hour store to celebrate leaving the Covid isolation after contracting the disease.
Buyers were asked what brought them to Kmart at 1am – these two said they needed to buy a tent very urgently
This man likes to buy fishing gear but his house is full so he does it at 1am to avoid getting caught by his wife.
Dubbed “so healthy,” the TikTok series has reached over two million people and includes a hungry customer looking for a microwave.
“Mine exploded,” he laughed.
“I was cooking frozen meals because my wife was away and I couldn’t cook,” he admitted.
Another man said he had to go to the store to buy clean clothes after realizing that all his clothes had to be washed.
“I’m in between places and I’m working crazy hours right now, so everybody’s dirty,” he said.
While one woman admitted that it “looks weird”, she had to go to the shop at 1:30 to “buy furniture”.
Three young women were in line to respond to their morning shopping habits.
They admitted that they were bored and that one of them had just left the block and wanted to see each other.
A spokesperson for the group said, “Remember that it’s open otherwise and there’s honestly nothing else to do at 1:00”.
The two men receive bonus points from the audience after announcing that they came to the story to buy tents.
“I don’t know about the guys in the tent,” said one spectator.
An old man says he needs more fishing gear but needs to shop early, while his wife doesn’t know.
“He’d kill me if he knew I was getting more, the house is full of them,” he laughed, his hand full.
Du’s followers admitted that they would “watch a show about people shopping at 1:00” and request follow-up videos.

This group of women said they were bored, and they celebrated their friend’s being Covid-free by going shopping.
This woman said she really needed new furniture, but realized she had bought it at a strange time.
“I’m so enthusiastic now,” said one man, adding that he would be delighted to see the tent boys and his grandfather go on morning adventures in the fresh air.
Others reject the idea that “there’s nothing to do at one in the morning”.
“You can sleep like everyone else, or whatever,” they said.
Visited Kmart Du is located in Burwood, Western Sydney and is open 24 hours.
One woman defended the old man and said she understood that “buying things as a hobby” could be more fun than the hobby itself.
