Nuria Roca: ”After more than two years without stopping, it’s time to relax a little and enjoy the summer”

When we talk about the most famous faces of the Spanish television it is impossible not to refer to Nuria Rock (Moncada, 1972). The presenter She has been in the world for almost three decades and there are few challenges left to be done, although, as she says herself, “television is a magic box full of surprises”. Currently it is one of the Staff members most representative of the program the anthillwho participates every Thursday in a current meeting with her husband, Juan del Val, the socialite Tamara Falcothe journalist Cristina Pardo and Pablo Motos, the host of this show. So important in El Hormiguero, that when Pablo couldn’t present it for medical reasons, she was in charge of doing it herself. But 2021 brought him another surprise: his private space in La Sextacalled The stonea program that every Sunday at noon and in which various topics are discussed in the form of a meeting. The Valencian also has a facet of actress in fiction projects and in the theaterbesides the fact stylist in social networks.

Nuria was one of the faces of this summer Larian sunsetsan experience to enjoy Good life from various enclaves of exception. Together with others actresses of our country as Blanca Romero or Laura Sanchezthe Valencian was present in The Spa of Malagawhere the mark of Malaga gin invited them to live an unforgettable moment in the sunset with the concert Kiko Venero. And it is that, from July 12 to 22, those who attended this event enjoyed the performances of some of our most famous national artists, What The Secrets, Antonio Carmona or Sole Gimenez. But Atardeceres Larios can also be enjoyed all summer from the Mediterranean terracesa selection of local Madrid, Andalusia and Levante. But it was in this enclave that we were able interview the presenter talk about it summerhow do you experience your current television moment, you Next projects or your relationship to fashion. Take a good look at Nuria Rock with the imposing Mediterranean background:

How did it personally live the Atardeceres Larios experience?

It was the first time I attended and I hope to repeat it in the coming summers as it was a wonderful event and an extraordinary starting signal for the holiday. I’ve met great people, I’ve listened to good music and I’ve been to a fantastic place like El Balneario de Málaga, so it’s been a bit of a hit.

Referring to this Larian Sunsets event, do you prefer sunsets or sunrises?

I think as I get older I am a bit more of a morning person because I wake up earlier and earlier. I really like to see the sunrise, start the day and know that I have many things to do. Although of course sunsets are always a great plan, and even more so if it’s close to the sea and in the summer!

Is there one in particular that touched you?

The sunsets that impressed me the most were undoubtedly the sunsets I experienced in Tanzania when I was recording a program there and I was lucky enough to be able to go several times a year. Watching the sunset in Ngorongoro is something absolutely extraordinary.

What do you want from the summer? What are your ideal plans for these months?

I ask the summer not to be as hot as it is now and to be able to rest and enjoy the kids, relax after a year of hard work and spend a few days in Menorca. Then if I can travel to Cádiz, be at home in Madrid, which I also really want, go to Valencia… Anyway, I have many plans that I will see if I can fulfill them all!

Would you rather spend your holidays here in Spain or abroad?

The truth is that in the summer we usually spend our holidays here in Spain, because there are no more beautiful places than these -Menorca, Valencia, Cádiz-. And when I go abroad in the summer, it’s usually to New York, where Juan and I always like to get away for a few days.

Is this summer relaxed or do you have to work?

After more than two years without stopping, it’s time to relax a little and enjoy the summer, my family, my children… I want to make the most of it!

You lead the program La Roca on La Sexta, you are one of the great collaborators of El Hormiguero… how do you experience your current television moment?

I live it and enjoy it wonderfully because I enjoy it a lot. I do what I like. Yes, it is true that it is a lot of work all year round, but when the summer comes and you can rest a little, nothing happens at all. Moreover, I live it as I always live: with great enthusiasm and with a great desire to be able to project and do many things.

Since 1994 you have devoted yourself to the world of television. What have you got to do in this one? Is there a format you would like to run?

Well, look… you’re saying 1994 and it’s clearly the last century. It’s been many years and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to do very, very different things. What is left for me to do? Well, I do not know. Television is a magic box full of surprises and it continues to surprise me after so many years. Any project with a great team behind it is great to lead the way. And the format I would like to perform is clearly “La Roca”, which I think is now when I’ve been able to do it, in the sense that you know what you want, how you want it and they give you the chance to to be there, for which I am immensely grateful and enjoy immensely.

And as for the theater and other projects… where can we see you?

The first week of August (from 4 to 7) I will be in San Sebastián with Antonia San Juan with “The Great Depression” directed by Félix Sabroso. This year we will have to take a break from the tour due to work commitments -because everything is not possible!- but I am very happy that I did this work and as soon as we can we will continue again. Having Antonia San Juan as a partner is absolutely wonderful. This year also saw the release of “Madres”, which I recorded last summer, and it has had a fantastic success on Amazon, so I’m very happy. I’ve always been excited about fiction projects and jumped in whenever I had the chance, so when it comes along I will be too!

You are also a reference in fashion, because any style you wear on television or on social networks is an object of desire for the public. How do you feel about being a fashion reference for some people?

If what I’m wearing helps someone get inspired or learn about what I’m wearing and they want to buy it, that’s great! It eventually becomes what you say, a reference. Yes, it creates a bit of pressure when deciding what to wear and you think I’ve already worn this, they’ve already seen this on me… Anyway, take the joke away, it’s another compliment that comes through the networking is produced socially, which I love. They have many things for, some against, but… I’m happy. The day I don’t have fun, I won’t be a reference, I tell you.

Is fashion something you like or is it just related to your profession?

No, no, in my case fashion is of course related to my profession, but it is something I like and have always enjoyed. That is, I’ve always had my criteria, my manners, my behavior, my opinion. And there are things that fit and there are other things that don’t fit, but not everyone can like it. I think fashion is important to know how to wear it yourself and that it makes you feel good, that it gives you security and that you can feel beautiful. So in that sense I am what I do with fashion.

What should not be missing in your summer suitcase?

Well, of course many bikinis, sarongs, kaftans, sunglasses are absolutely indispensable, a raffia or wicker basket and some sandals.

This event is closely related to music, so do you already have a song for Summer 2022?

The truth is that by enjoying Kiko Veneno’s concert in Atardeceres Larios, I rediscovered it again. I haven’t heard it in a long time and I’m totally addicted to all those songs. I love it, it fascinates me and each of the themes becomes my summer song. Also, when I go into a loop, I’m really going into a loop, that is, I’m squeezing and exhausting the numbers. So I’m sticking with Kiko Veneno!
