An Australian mom shared her latest shopping bag storage trick to keep her car trunk clean and tidy, and she uses a low-cost product from Kmart for it.
“I found it today and I knew it would be perfect for any shopping bag in my boot!” said.
The item she uses is the expandable storage container ($17) with three main compartments with two additional side pockets for costume jewelry.

“I use my own diaper cup and spares for the newborn, as well as swimsuits and extra suits for the boys,” said another mom.
The post received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, many of which praised the mother’s use of an unconventional baby storage box.
“I like the idea,” one woman said. ‘I’m using mine’ Diapers and spare clothes for newborn babies, plus extra clothes for swimmers and boys.’
“This is way better than my way of storing shopping bags,” said another. “I keep them… in the fridge, in the closet, in the closet, in the trunk of my car, in my husband’s trunk…” she interjected ironically.
The third said, “Damn, I really need this. I keep my bags folded in a drawer at home and I always forget about them.’
Others have provided helpful tips for optimizing storage bin usage.
“I bought an elastic belt from Bunnings and attached it to my backseat’s headrest – bags no longer bounce while riding.”
“If you’re not worried about the carpet piles peeling off, I recommend Velcro stickers for the bottom,” said another. “My little ones jump so much that there are no straps in the car.”
“These are great for small school bags or random baby items that parents need to keep in the car.”
“There are three in the car!” One mother agreed. “One for each child – I couldn’t help it.”

Many added that storage boxes are ideal for a variety of items that people might need in the car, such as extra diapers, disinfectants, extra clothing, sunscreen.
Others joked that even the storage box wouldn’t help them remember to use the grocery bags they had.
“I bet I’ll forget to carry all my shopping bags,” one woman said.
“I don’t see how this can help me: I have my bags in the front seat and I still forget”.
But not all were sold on the idea.
“I did but then I hated it because it took up too much space,” one woman wrote.
“This trick doesn’t work: I don’t want to buy extra items to better organize my stuff.”
