Most people know about the effects of cold water, but there is something else you may not know.
The scrotum is outside the body because the temperature inside is too high for them.

Inside the scrotum, they are found at a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, a prime location for the production of sperm and testosterone.
The cremaster muscle, responsible for movement, expands and contracts with temperature, explains WebMD.
And when the temperature is too high, the balls hang for a long time, in cold weather they get as close to the body as possible.

Sexual arousal is also another reason for the movement of the testicles.
In the 1960s, William Masters and Virginia Johnson discovered that the testicles lift and touch the body just before ejaculation.
They found that in 85% of men, the right testicle rises earlier than the left.
Both were dubbed the “masters of sex” in a 2009 book of the same name that detailed many of their findings.
They said movement is important and that men must be at least partially elevated to fully ejaculate.
William and Virginia found that if sexual arousal is maintained long enough, the balls double in size and return to normal after orgasm.
