In March, Maia revealed that she spent years trying to cover her face with makeup while bullies made fun of her looks at school.

Since then, she has created a platform where she shows people how she learned to accept her skin and also shares great selfies of her face in an effort to show other acne sufferers that they are not alone. .

Even though it took her a while to get there, Maia now truly loves herself, but she confessed that bullying really affected her life as a child.
