Those who often have nightmares should change their sleeping position, experts say. Apparently, if you sleep on your back, you are more likely to have a scary dream.
Sleep is a very important thing.
On average, adults should sleep at least 7 hours to be fully rested.
Since a good night’s sleep is key, having a terrifying dream isn’t the ideal way to start the day.

Not everyone has a nightmare, it is usually triggered by stress, some medications, or even a scary movie before bed.
But there are many reasons why someone might have a scary dream and it could be related to their sleeping position.
While scientists can’t pinpoint the exact cause of a bad nightmare, there are several factors.

Nightmares, in particular, are a confusing subject for scientists, as they can be not only very confusing, but also quite distressing.
As far as experts know, it is impossible to completely get rid of nightmares.
However, according to Harvard University researchers, there are several ways to deal with bad dreams.
The researchers said: “First, we need to determine the cause of the stress, if any.
“If one is identified, effective ways must be found to manage it.”
“For drug-induced nightmares, doses may need to be changed or different drugs given,” they continued.
Studies have shown that people who have nightmares can relieve their discomfort by changing their sleeping position.
Notably, Calvin Kai-Ching Yu, PhD, an associate professor at Yan University in Hong Kong, said sleeping on your back can cause them.
The teacher also said it would be more difficult for them to remember their dreams.
Yu added: “Different sleeping positions can create pressure on different parts of the body and bodily sensations can be the source of the elements of sleep.”

It is recommended that you sleep in the position that is most comfortable for you, as you don’t want to interrupt the quality of your nap.
However, a study by Dr. Mehmet Yucel Agargun of YuZunCu Yil University found that people who sleep on their right side dream of safety and relief.
Meanwhile, sleeping on the left side can be linked to increased emotions and insecurities.
