Sarah Ferguson says Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice became good mothers because of her.

Sarah Ferguson praised her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice for being good mothers, thanks to her example.

The Duchess of York, 62, told British entrepreneur Matt Haycox on The Matt Haycox Show podcast that she is a “very good mother” and that her daughters, Princess Beatrice, 33, and Eugenie, 32, were inspired by her as parents.

Sarah, commonly known as Fergie, said she has a son, 32-year-old Eugenie. Beatrice, who has been with her husband Jack Brooksbank and daughter Sienna for ten months with Edo Mapelli Mozzi on August 17, are “best ambassadors of good motherhood”.

Reflecting on her own childhood, the mother of two living at the Royal Lodge in Windsor said that as a child she was told it was selfish to think for herself, which led her to make bad decisions.

Sarah Ferguson (centre), 62, talked about what it was like to spend time with her two grandchildren. Daughter Princess Eugenia (left) gave birth to daughter Sienna in February of August, and Princess Beatrice (right) in September 2021.

During the podcast, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife said, “I teach my grandchildren the same way I teach my two beautiful daughters that they are the best ambassadors of good motherhood because I am such a good mother.”

He added that his parenting was different from the way he was brought up.

“I was like, ‘Oh, never think about yourself. You are so selfish. And of course you don’t think about yourself at all and you make endless bad decisions and go the wrong way.

When Matt asked her what advice she would give her grandchildren about life, work and the future, Fergie replied that they were a bit small, “although she was already in touch with them.”

Fergie revealed that August (pictured with her mother, Princess Eugenie) loves to play with tractors and trains, but will also share Barbies with Sienna.

But when I look at them, I think, ‘Oh my god, let a child, or in my case, my grandchildren, always be what they are,'” she said.

“I think this is my advice not only to my grandchildren but also to my children. [to ask]”How do you feel? Does that make you happy? Are you doing it because you want to, or are you trying to please or surpass yourself? Where are you in all this?”

He also warned against being complacent or superhero.

Sarah also shared how she had free time with her two 15-month-old grandchildren and 10-month-old Sienna.

Sarah told Matt Haycox that she was already communicating with both children, monitoring them, and emphasizing the importance of allowing children to be themselves.

He talked about his play habits, showing that August likes to play with trains and tractors, but can play with Barbies if he wants to.

“And right now Sienna wants to play with cute teddy bears and lots of pink stuff,” she added. ‘But if he wants to play with trains and tractors, then they can share, right? So no problem.

This happens when the Duchess recently claimed, in an interview with Times Radio on Tuesday morning, that the disgraced Duke of York was “a good and kind man” amid her speculation that she was pushing to get back to real life.

The interview comes after Prince Andrew settled with Virginia Giuffre for sexual assault earlier this year.

When asked if he would still choose to marry the Duke if he could go back in time, Ferguson replied, “Oh yes, he’s such a nice and kind man.”

Referring to their wedding day, he added: ‘It was an extraordinary day, July 23, 1986. And it was simply extraordinary.

“I think my life has been a great life. I think I was very lucky. And now I’m starting my life over. And I think it’s good enough to be able to say that,” she said.

Despite their divorce in 1996, Sarah and Andrew have maintained such a good relationship that they still share the Royal Lodge, the Queen Anne’s former home on the Windsor estate, and regularly visit the Queen with Windsor Castle.

He had previously described them as “the happiest divorced couple in the world”, living under the same roof but with their own room at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
