Some people can find love in the most desperate places and these women have made very close friendships after meeting in the bathroom. What an unexpected!
Friends can be made in the strangest places and this group of women met some of the most important people in their lives in the public swamps.
To celebrate National Best Friends Day on June 8, Victorian Plumbing has decided to celebrate some of the people who have found love in the most desperate places (to quote Rihanna).
Many may find temporary relief or happiness by meeting a stranger in the bathroom on a night out and getting a much-needed pep talk to get through the night, but some people have actually found their kindred spirits in the bathroom.
Some of these women have revealed their stories about how their relationships blossomed and what advice they would give to others looking to find new friends with strangers.
Andrea Daniel, 38, and Sofía Fernández, 39, met when they were teenagers.
Telling his story, Andrea said: “We met at the age of 17 in the toilets of our university. I had just left my old university to enter this new one, so I didn’t have any friends yet.

“I went to the bathroom and overheard this girl (Sofia) talking on the phone to someone in Portuguese – I also speak Portuguese, which gave us something to bond with, especially in a predominantly white school.
“After that, we continued socializing in and out of school. Fast forward 22 years and two kids each later, we regularly go on a family vacation together and have been there for the most important moments in each other’s life. Sofia is more than a friend of mine now
“She is my sister. My advice to others is to be open to meeting new people, because you never know what impact they will have on your life.”
Meanwhile, Rhea Jacobs, 26, and Tamara Abedi, 25, met in the United States while on vacation.
At the time, they were partying and wearing similar clothing.

“We met in the bathroom of the club in Miami! Rea said.
“I was on vacation with my friends and went to the bathroom to check my makeup.
“Tamara walks in behind me as I put my makeup on, wearing my own pattern and colors (which is usually a recipe for disaster).
“We looked at each other, laughed and complemented each other – as we did, we realized we both had London accents.
“We talked and found that we actually live 30 minutes away in London!
“Afterwards, before returning to London, we all celebrated together.
“Once back in London, we made arrangements to meet and have met ever since.
“The moral of the story is that sometimes wearing a similar outfit to someone on vacation is a good thing.”
Fariha Choudhury, 25, also met Aminata Kanda, 28, at the spa.
Fariha said: “I was in the bathroom with my friend and Aminata stopped us and asked if we were models (hopefully).
“She was very nice and had a typical ‘meet girls in the bathroom’ conversation.
“Then he asked me if I would like to model with his clothes, so I gave him my Instagram.

“The next time we met it was for one of my PR events a month later.
“He gave me one of his beautiful studio pieces. We took photos for her clothing page and videos for my cooking blog.
“We ate very well and got to know each other.
“We are still texting and celebrating our victories (big and small) that I love, and soon we will be 100% collaborating again! Chat in the girl’s bathroom because you never know where this friendship might take you.
“This meeting was also my first PR opportunity in fashion.”
