A fitness guru and Instagram influencer admitted that she felt happier after gaining weight.

Isabelle, a body-positive girl also known as fitness4lazygirls, revealed that she began to feel much better about herself when she stopped attributing her self-esteem to her weight and fitness.

“I wish someone would tell me before that getting smaller does NOT mean being more confident,” she said, posting two mirror selfies taken six years apart as proof.

She added that during that time she had gained 20 pounds, a balanced lifestyle and “a lot of confidence”.

“Often it’s the other way around. For me, constantly struggling to lose weight made me more anxious.

“I constantly felt like I wasn’t good enough and always pushed myself to achieve a goal that I could never achieve.”

“My confidence started to blossom when I stopped putting all my self-worth on my weight and body image.

“I started thriving outside the gym and stopped worrying so much about the number on the scale.”

Isabelle’s post collected over 900 likes in less than 24 hours.

Earlier this month, Isabelle challenged the social media lie, explaining that the images you see on platforms like Instagram don’t always represent real life.

To show how social media is more of a “reel of highlights” than a realistic look at someone’s life, she posted two photos taken within seconds of each other to show what different influencers can look like in between shots. ‘other.

In the first image, titled “Posing, Flexing, Good Posture”, Isabelle can be seen beaming in the sun and flaunting her toned curves.

But in comparison, in the shot that shows her movement between shots, she looks more natural and shows off the small imperfections of her body.

She said she decided to share it to show women that they don’t always have to be “perfect”.
