The Russian trailer of Francis Ford Coppola’s new science fiction movie Megalopolis has been published on the internet.
The plot of the film is based on Sallust’s work “On the Catiline Conspiracy” and takes place in the ruined New York of the future. The main character, the brilliant architect Cesar Catilina, is trying to rebuild the metropolis, making it the capital of the world. However, he is opposed by his rival, the city’s mayor, Frank Cicero.
It should be noted that the premiere of the project will take place 9 – 3.5 months after its debut at the worldwide box office. Despite years of effort, Megalopolis failed to achieve success at the worldwide box office, making less than ten percent of its budget.
