A budget-conscious mom talked about how she turned two “disposable bar stools” into beautiful large flower pots for the facade of her home.
My mom explained that she struggled to find the right pots for her tall plants before she decided she had to make them herself.
“I couldn’t find anything I liked that didn’t cost an arm and a leg,” she said.

The planters looked like high-end models that would have cost him hundreds of dollars.
So he decided to “dig a stash of scrap wood” and reuse a $5 set of tired crutches.
“I thought if I flipped them they would make perfect frames for vases,” he thought.
He filled the gaps with spare wood and painted the pots black with great results.
His post on an upcycle Facebook page became hugely popular, with many congratulating him for thinking outside the box.
‘They look good. And I think it’s better than the price of buying them for an arm and a leg,” one woman said.
“This is the best transformation I’ve seen in months, well done,” one woman said.
He turned the stools and filled the holes with scraps of wood.
“It was a very clever thing to do. They look exactly like you would buy,” added another.
Others asked for more details and admitted that there were old stools in the house.
‘Omg I need step-by-step instructions!!! I love it and I have 2 old crutches lying around,” one woman wrote.
“Can you post instructions for flipping the materials used to make the sides?” asked another.
Then he painted them black and put smaller pots in them to hold the plants.
Other people showed off their creations: A woman made a garden bench with two old chairs.
The post received hundreds of comments and was shared more than 1,200 times by affected housewives.
The post showed how the woman used plywood to fill the legs before adding the diagonal panels to serve as decorative borders after painting.
So he put his tall pots in flower pots and put them in front of his house.
People wrote “They look so good, well done” next to the finished product photo.

He explained that he couldn’t stand to see the wood get to the point – given the cost at the time, so assemble the seats with slats and paint them red.
