Ónagh Martin, of Co Tyrone, Ireland, said she was unhappy with his “horrible” personality. Now the former frenzy eater has lost a big 7 and hasn’t looked back since.
One woman talked about her weight loss journey after being fed up with her “horrible” personality.
Ónagh Martin, of Co Tyrone, Ireland, knew he had a food problem but did not know how to go about his transformation.
He tried various weight loss groups, diet pills, and smoothies, but found that nothing seemed to work, he reports Belfast live.
But three years ago she began her incredible journey after joining a gym in Omagh owned by Noreen McDermott.
Soon after, she realized that she could find something she was good at and was passionate about.
The 35-year-old revealed how her life has changed since she first entered the gym three years ago.
He said, “My personality was terrible too, I wasn’t a good person because I was so unhappy with myself, but I decided to put it behind me.”
“When I started lifting weights I would have weighed 17, 7 or 18 pounds and decided I wanted to lose weight.
“Noreen really helped me, at the time I was just a member of the gym and had no interest in becoming a personal trainer.”
Admitting that he has a very bad relationship with food, Ónagh decided to change and completed his level 2 in personal training.
She said she was truly life changing as she owed a lot of her success to Noreen in Fit for Life.
The lean added: “She believed in me a lot, I didn’t want to disappoint her.
“I’m also the kind of person that when I step into something, I want to do it well and I want to do it well.
“I did Slimming World, Weight Watchers, bought all these stupid pills, even stupid smoothies and nothing worked.
“I didn’t expect to train in your gym, it all happened so fast.
Ónagh has also completed a half marathon, triathlon and competed in the Irish Nationals weightlifting competition.
Now he hopes to educate his clients about food and why a restrictive diet isn’t necessary to see results.
He explained: “There is not even good and bad food.
“All my customers have take-out food but they just have a good balance, they go for a walk and they are aware of what they are eating.
“It’s very simple, but again it’s about finding someone to help you in the right way and to relate to.”
Ónagh’s story was rewarded when she was crowned Best Personal Trainer in Tyrone at the 2022 NI Bfit Awards in Belfast.
