Bad news for Star Wars fans. They won’t be waiting for a second season of the “Acolyte” spin-off.
The detective story about a Padawan girl and her Jedi mentor investigating a series of crimes a century before the events of the series’ main story has come to an abrupt end, Deadline reports.
News of the decision comes a month after the series wrapped its eight-episode first season. “The Acolyte” was well-received by critics, but fans of the universe were divided in their opinions, which influenced the creators’ ultimate decision to close the project.
Star Wars: The Acolyte successfully opened on June 4. The first two episodes garnered almost five million first-day views on the streaming service, making it the biggest premiere of 2024.
