And now the majority of schoolchildren are finishing their education, only graduates are preparing to enter colleges and universities. Just think: how long have we been waiting for sunny weather and with it the joy of summer. Almost everyone was sent to summer camp by their parents in childhood, and some remember it as fun and friendship, while others remember it as a complete nightmare.
Everyone who liked to sleep longer remembers how difficult it was to wake up early in the morning and maintain discipline. After breakfast, everyone enjoyed the exercises and other activities. Playing rubber bands, relay races, sports and creative master classes, discos, swimming in the water and, of course, falling in love for the first time – all this is always associated with summer camp. It is enough to remember how everyone told scary stories, sitting around the fire at night. By the way, we have already remembered the most popular children’s horror stories.
If you want to remember your childhood at the camp, we have put together some great movies for you that will give you the summer vacation atmosphere.
“Moonrise Kingdom”, dir. Wes Anderson (2012)

Sam and Susie, two young outsiders, decide to run away from everyone to create their own happy kingdom. As a result, they are both incredibly lonely. Sam is an orphan who has been abandoned by several foster families and now has to endure the ridicule of his peers at Ivanhoe Scout Camp. He really stands out, for example, he wears his mother’s brooch (“Boys don’t wear this, but I don’t care”). And in this regard, he is close to Susie, who suffers from violent outbursts. When she learns of her mother’s infidelity, her world falls apart. During their escape, they not only support each other, but they also truly fall in love. But adults start looking for them to separate them… Can they stay together no matter what?
“The Parent Trap,” dir. Nancy Meyers (1998)

After watching this movie as a child, many people dreamed of having twin sisters. Just remember how the friendly little sisters set up an ambush at the camp. Overall, a nice movie that you will want to watch with your family. Girls Holly and Annie met at summer camp and did not like each other at first sight. They are like two peas in a pod, but one is the daughter of a hard-working mother and the other is the guardian of her father. Suddenly, they discover pieces of a photo of their parents and realize that they are each other’s sisters. One desperately wants to see her mother, the other always misses her father. They plan to reunite their parents by switching places. By the way, both girls are played by Lindsay Lohan.
“Two: Me and My Shadow”, dir. Andy Tennant (1993)

Fluffy sisters Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen played two strikingly similar girls in the film. And although they are not twins, they skillfully confuse others. They also live differently: orphan Amanda dreams of a loving family, and Alyssa lives on the site with her widowed father Roger. Amanda secretly hopes that she will be adopted by the orphanage teacher Diana and Alyssa, and that her father will finally see the true face of his future stepmother. When Diana and Roger meet, the girls come up with a plan.
“Vacations of Petrov and Vasechkin, Ordinary and Incredible”, dir. Vladimir Alenikov (1993)

Two close friends, Vasya Petrov and Petya Vasechkin, come to the camp for the summer against their will. When their peers Olya Bobkina and Olya Dobkina mistake Vasechkin for a hooligan nicknamed Gus and his friend for an accomplice, they decide to take advantage of the situation. At first, they are happy that everyone is serving them, but when the real Kaz appears, things get out of control. However, when their friend Masha Startseva comes to the camp, they enjoy life again. Inspired by Cervantes’ “Don Quixote”, the guys decide to repeat his chivalrous exploits and glorify the name of Masha-Dulcinea.
“One Hundred Days After Childhood”, dir. Sergei Solovyov (1993)

A touching film about love. Pioneer leader Sergei, a sculptor by profession, inspires and guides the younger generation, while his servants experience their first love. Pioneer Lopukhin is crazy about Lenka Ergolina (Tatyana Drubich) and therefore never notices how Sonya Zagremukhina “dried up” for him. As preparations for the play “Masquerade”, based on Lermontov’s play, begin to unravel, the love triangle begins to unravel.
“Breakfast on the Grass”, dir. Nikolai Alexandrovich (1993)

The film’s title comes from Claude Monet’s painting of the same name, “Luncheon on the Grass”. In fact, the story is full of greenery, sun and joy. The main character, Ivan Kovalev, becomes a pioneer leader on the advice of his friend. The argument is simple: summer camp provides plenty of free time to prepare for college. But reality is very different from the plans: there is almost no time for rest and study, as his students constantly break discipline and dive into different stories. He has a lot to learn in order to gain authority.
“Addams Family Values”, ed. Barry Sonnenfeld (1993)

We recommend that fans of black comedy revisit this film. After Gomez and Morticia’s son Pubert is born, their children Wednesday and Pugsley become jealous and try to harm the baby. Soon Debbie, the nanny with the reputation of the “black widow”, appears in the house – all her rich husbands are dead. And this time she has her eye on their uncle Fester. In order to prevent the children from discovering her evil plan, she convinces their parents to send them to summer camp. But Wednesday and Pugsley are not ready to dance to the rhythm of the counselors and practically arrange the end of the world in the camp.
