Recently, it was immediately announced by Sergei Ursulyak and Sarik Andreasyan that the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s cult epic novel “War and Peace” will be shot.

The creator of the latest film adaptation of “Onegin” announced on his personal blog that shooting of the feature film will begin next year.
“The book that changed the world! What should a director film after the success of Onegin? “War and Peace” of course! A great movie worthy of a great book! Let’s start next year! Wish us luck!” — Sarık wrote. (Author’s punctuation has been preserved – Note ed.).

Let us remember that the first film adaptation of the cult novel was directed by King Vidor in 1956. In it, the beautiful Audrey Hepburn and the magnificent Henry Fonda were chosen to play the main roles, Natasha Rostova and Pierre Bezukhov. We have previously explained why directors are again mass-filming Russian classics. Read here.
