“Formula 1” in Monaco yesterday was not without incident. Mick Schumacher, son of the famous Michael Schumacher, crashed into the car on the forty-eighth lap and hit a fence. As a result, the car broke into two parts.
Mick Schumacher was criticized by drivers after this incident. Many stated that they are not professional. Even his own uncle did not stand aside.
“Other drivers have gone this turn smoothly, but not Mick,” Ralf Schumacher said on the broadcast of German TV channel Sky. “At first I thought it was touching the fence with a tangent that led to a slow puncture, but then it turned out to be out of orbit – such errors cannot be allowed,” said Ralf Schumacher. He also added that Mick Schumacher has ruined not just his own race but the entire team – it will affect their salaries.
Is Mick Schumacher such a bad racer? And in general, why his father decided to continue his work, we understand from our material.
the path to the profession
Mick was born and raised in Glan (Switzerland). And, apparently, it was clear from childhood that the boy would become a racer. His father, uncle, cousin all chose the field of auto racing.
He started his sports career with karting: He participated in the European Winter Cup, the German Youth Karting Championship, and the European and World Championships. Won awards everywhere. By the way, at these races Mick presented himself with a different surname – on the track he was known as Mick Junior.
Since 2014, the guy began to participate in the formula series already under his real name. At the same time, the press began to notice his success in the race. But the first victory was still far away. He just won the Formula 3 European Championship in 2018. The next victory came a year later – Mick took first place in Formula 2.
something went wrong
Once in Formula 1, Mick Schumacher started taking defeat after defeat. In 2021, the race was unsuccessful – it took only 19th place. Exactly the same as this year – not to mention the fact that the young racer completely crashed the car.
“Mick needs to reconsider things. Now his pace is pretty good, he can stay close but the accidents should not continue. There are millions of damage,” said Christian Danner, ex-Formula driver of the accident.
By the way, this is not Mick Schumacher’s first accident. In March 2022, he was hit by a car during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix qualifiers and did not participate in the race. Haas, the auto company represented by Schumacher, suffered millions of dollars in losses due to his careless racer.
At the same time, Mick himself still seems to believe that he can fix everything. He dreams of working for the Ferrari team and says that the most important example for him in life (and sport) is his father.
