According to Deadline, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney will portray boxer Christy Martin.

“I did grappling and kickboxing from 12 to 19. I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring and training to transform my body. Christy’s story is not easy, it requires physical and emotional effort. But I like to challenge myself,” said Sydney Sweeney. The film will be directed by David Michaud (“Flesh and Bone,” “The Rover”).
A little about Christy Martin: The athlete has a record of 49 wins (31 by knockout) and 7 losses during his 23-year career. She competed from 1989 to 2012 and became the first woman to be inducted into the US boxing hall of fame.

In 2010, the star’s husband tried to kill her. He was later convicted of attempted second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
