The best ‘rooftops’ to enjoy the summer in Madrid

Madrid has no beach… but it does have spectacular terraces, and many, where you can enjoy the summer and the nice weather. And it’s that in recent years the trend of ‘roofs’ has established itself in the capital, -you know, those typical roofs of places like New York – ideal for going ‘after work’ and so on, the city is filled with the most special and exclusive roofs in a very short time worth a visit at this pleasant time of year. Time to make plans!

mainly housed on the top floor of hotels and restaurants, these ‘penthouses’ or outdoor roof terraces usually offer an unparalleled plan with which it is very difficult to compete at this time of year we are already in: view of some of the best squares and streets of Madrid -such as the Gran Vía, where the largest offer of the city is concentrated-, the opportunity to drink a good cocktail or a menu designed by prestigious chefs, a city pool where you can cool your feet or take a dip, concerts or DJs playing live music… So how could we not like it!

Ideal for a good afternoon with friends, for a romantic date, to observe a beautiful sunset, to disconnect during the week or to enjoy a Saturday evening – and of course to take a good photo for Instagram -, this rooftops of Madrid are the new ‘place to be’ that you don’t want to miss in the summer months, when they are open. Some of the best in the capital? We will discover them here for you: more central, in the middle of the Puerta del Sol or in the vicinity, such as the classic Círculo de Bellas Artes or the restaurant Dani Brasserie, in the Four Seasons; either overlooking Puerta de Alcalá or Gran Vía (like the terrace of Hotel Pestana CR7); much quieter, in areas like Chamartín or Lavapiés (like the roof of the Casa Encendida)… you choose the one that suits you best. Attention, don’t miss them… andfrom Madrid to heaven!
