Original Silent Witness star Amanda Burton returns tonight for her 25th series to meet her on-screen successor, Emilia Fox.
The show, currently the longest running crime drama airing worldwide, promises a Covid-inspired story for a highly anticipated romance between Nikki Alexander (Fox) and Jack Hodgson (played by Northern Irish actor David Caves).
Fans have already taken to Twitter for the episode and she tweeted: “Is it okay to cancel your plans with your boyfriend after not seeing him for a week? #silentwitness!!”

Burton made his debut as pathologist Sam Ryan in February 1996 – the year Dolly the Sheep made his Spice Girls debut, and Diana and Charles were about to finalize their divorce – before they split at the start of the eighth series in 2004.
She returns tonight when her husband Jomo Mashaba (Hugh Quarshie) is shot to death and enlists Dr. Nikki is summoned.
