The series “Poor Nastya” was released in 2003 and literally fascinated millions of viewers not only in Russia but in 34 countries of the world. Needless to say, the players have become megastars; their personal lives were followed with as much curiosity as the fates of the on-screen heroes. We explain how the main characters of the series changed.
The costume melodrama is set in 1839, when the Russian Empire was ruled by Emperor Nicholas I. Moreover, historical events form the background of the dramatic relationships between the characters. It is worth saying that many characters will appear on the screen throughout 127 episodes: bridesmaids, soldiers, prison guards, gendarmes, despotic landowners, card masters, serfs, gypsies, tavern owners. But we are primarily interested in the leading roles. The plot focuses on the relationship between serf Anna and her boss, Baron Vladimir Korf.
Elena Korikova – serf Anna Platonova (in fact – Princess Anastasia Dolgorukaya)

The producers approved Elena Korikova, choosing her from 1000 applicants for the main role of the blonde beauty Anna, a student of Baron Ivan Korf. And this despite the fact that the actor is already 31 years old, although according to the script the hero is just under 20 years old. But no one noticed this behind the actress’s angelic appearance. In the story, the protagonist was looking for his family and was torn between his two admirers, Vladimir Korf and Mikhail Repnin.
With her popularity, Korikova began to appear on the covers of glossy magazines, and also starred in music videos of Alla Pugacheva, Leonid Agutin, Valery Leontyev, the group “Ivanushki International” and the group “Vintage”. Later, she took part in the shows “Dancing with the Stars”, “Two Stars”, “Circus with the Stars”, and also hosted the program “Fort Boyard”. True, he had no luck in the cinema: for the audience he remained an actor of one role. She was credited with the novels of Sergei Astakhov and Andrei Malakhov, but the actress herself did not comment on them. It is known that Elena Korikova had a son, Arseny, from the playwright Dmitry Roshchin, who left the marriage to pursue a career as a priest. Korikova was married to writer Dmitry Lipskerov for two years, then married cameraman Maxim Osadchy. The actress currently lives in Montenegro with her new husband, a former civil servant. She almost gave up acting in films and only occasionally acts in the theatre.
Daniil Strakhov – Baron Vladimir Korf

Daniil Strakhov represented on the screen Vladimir, the rebellious heir of Ivan Korf, who hid his feelings for the serf Anna behind ostentatious coldness. According to the story, its heroine intervened in Anna’s relationship with her childhood friend Mikhail Repnin. Needless to say, how many girls’ hearts were broken by the handsome brunette?
The role of the aristocrat Korf became Strakhov’s “golden ticket” to the world of cinema. The actor recalled that he came to the casting as an extra, but the producers immediately noticed the handsome young man and offered him to play the main role. Despite his great fame, Strakhov never advertised his personal life. It is known that he has been happily married for a long time with actress Maria Leonova, whom he met only when he was a student. The couple has no children. Daniil Strakhov’s acting career can be considered successful. After “Poor Nastya”, she played in popular TV series such as “Children of the Arbat”, “Stormy Doors”, “We Come from the Future” and “Witch Doctor”. The actor also continues to take part in theater productions.
Pyotr Krasilov – Prince Mikhail Repnin

The role of Prince Mikhail Repnin became Pyotr Krasilov’s film debut. The handsome man immediately attracted the attention of female viewers. By nature, his hero is a true romantic who keeps his beloved’s things, writes touching letters and fights in duels. After his unsuccessful love affair with Anna, he finds happiness in Korf’s ex-fiancée, Princess Elizaveta Dolgoruka.
After the end of “Poor Nastya”, Krasilov was remembered for his leading role in another popular TV series, “Don’t Be Born Beautiful”, where he played gigolo Roman Malinovsky. Krasilov still continues to act in films and play in the theater, but in recent years the actor has complained of health problems. Krasilov suffered from a complicated form of the coronavirus, which is why he gained an extra 30 kilos. The actor was in a civil marriage with actress Natalya Selivanova, with whom he had a son named Ivan. However, he soon fell in love with another actress, Irina Shebeko, whom he married in 2005. The couple had a daughter named Alexandra. When Shebeko decided to change her profession and become a photographer, she went to study in Los Angeles with her daughter. Krasilov continued to work in Russia and live in two countries, but in 2021, feelings faded and the couple decided to divorce.
Anna Tabanina – Princess Elizaveta Dolgorukaya

Another bright blonde in “Poor Nastya” was the heroine Anna Tabanina. The actress played Elizaveta Dolgorukaya, a romantic young lady who is unrequitedly in love with her childhood friend Vladimir Korf. In the story, our heroine resists the pressure of her power-hungry mother to marry her off to the despotic old man Andrei Platonovich Zabaluev. It was Dolgorukaya, together with the future groom, Prince Repnin, who managed to unravel the secret of Anna-Anastasia.
Fame fell on Anna Tabanina unexpectedly: the girl planned to follow in her father’s footsteps and become an artist. After the TV project, she became interested in religion and even thought about becoming a nun, but she met love. It turned out that it was the artist Dmitry Kudin whom the actress married. Three children were born from the marriage: son Vasily and daughters Sofia and Seraphim. But misfortune came to the family – in 2014, her husband died of brain cancer. Before his death, Dmitry asked his wife to “take action”, but Tabanina remained faithful for a long time. She moved with her family to Pushkin, where she led a non-public lifestyle. Recently on social networks the star of “Poor Nastya” posted a photo with her new chosen one, whose name she did not disclose.
Dmitry Isaev – Tsarevich Alexander II, son of Emperor Nicholas I

The noble and volatile Tsarevich Alexander performed by Dmitry Isaev turned the heads of millions of women. According to the story, the hero dreamed of marrying to his heart’s content, first with his maid of honor Olga Kalinovskaya, and then with her friend Natalya Repnina. However, the public debt required the election of an equal party. Only later did he appreciate the spiritual qualities and beauty of his bride, the German Princess Maria of Hesse of Darmstadt.
For the sake of shooting “Poor Nastya” Dmitry Isaev refused five projects – and he was right. Soon the actor was flooded with offers. The actor is still in demand in the profession. His prominent projects include the role of Nikolai Rostov in the series “War and Peace”, Prince Alexander Vasilchikov in the series “From Fire and Light” and Vladislav in “The Golden Cage”. According to Isaev, he is a very loving person. He first married actress Asya Shibarova, whom he met when he was a student. In this marriage he had twin daughters Sofia and Polina. Later he met ballerina Inna Ginkevich and divorced his wife. He lived with her for six years until he fell in love with her close friend Oksana Rozhok, who was also a ballerina. In 2014, the couple had a son named Alexander.
Anton Makarsky – Prince Andrey Dolgoruky

Even before the series “Poor Nastya”, Anton Makarsky became famous as a musical actor with the role of the handsome Phoebus, torn between two chosen ones, in the Russian version of “Notre Dame de Paris”. Prince Andrei Dolgoruky was also torn between his love for the serf Tatiana and the Empress’s maid of honor, Natalya Repnina. His hero still attracts public ire.
In real life, the actor, on the contrary, is happily married to singer Victoria Makarskaya (née Morozova), whom he met during the casting of the musical “Metro”. Despite the fact that his wife was already famous at that time, he immediately believed in the talent and success of the aspiring actor. The couple is still together and has two children: daughter Maria and son Ivan. Currently, the couple hosts the program “Temples of Russia” on the Spas TV channel. The actor travels a lot and, as evidenced by his photos on social networks, spends a lot of time on the set and with his family.
Ekaterina Klimova – Princess Natalya Repnina

Another actress whose popularity only increased after “Poor Nastya” is Ekaterina Klimova. Millions of viewers got to know her for the first time thanks to the role of the sophisticated princess Natalya Repnina, the empress’s handmaiden. Her heroine – the bride of Andrei Dolgoruky – will have to choose between love and duty, avoiding the attention of the brilliant Tsarevich Alexander.
