Unfortunately, summer is over, but the warm and sunny autumn does not allow us to be sad. Therefore, we recommend taking a walk around the most beautiful public estates of the Moscow region, weather permitting (but read our material first).
Gorky Leninskie Estate

Thanks to its owners, Gorky is one of the most famous estates not only in the Moscow region, but also in Russia. The estate is a pearl of neoclassical style palatial country architecture, and Zinaida Grigorievna Morozova-Reinboth, Russia’s richest woman of the 20th century, had a gracious hand in its improvement.
Under his auspices, a winter garden and a large summer terrace appeared on the estate. Almost all of the furniture in the house has been preserved in its original form: a table for card games, furniture with armrests in the form of a gilded swan neck, the remains of Zinaida’s huge collection of porcelain dishes and much more.

The technical arrangement of the site and baths in accordance with the latest developments of the 20th century deserves special attention. The house had a central water supply and two bathrooms. Electric lighting was also installed in the estate, and since there were still very few electric lamps at that time, the creative housewife used flower vases as a basis. There were three phones in the house, but even one was considered a luxury.
In Gorky, an underground passage for servants was also built, through which food for guests and residents was carried from the kitchen to the manor’s house, so that extraneous sounds and smells would not disturb the meal.

After his release, VI Lenin settled in the estate where Gorky was preserved in such a wonderful condition. Vladimir Ilyich first visited the estate occasionally to recuperate, and in 1923 he moved there completely. He died there in 1924. In Gorky, Lenin’s magnificent imprint still exists as his car; the only Rolls-Royce “Silver Ghost” car in the world.
The estate is located in the Leninsky urban district, a ticket to the park costs 100 rubles, and to the museum – 500 rubles.
Bykovo Estate

If you want to find yourself in a real English palace, come immediately to the Bykovo estate, located near Ramenskoye in the village of Bykovo, 36 km from Moscow. The territory of the estate is a treasure for contemplative lovers of beauty, because in addition to the luxurious Vorontsov-Dashkov castle, there is also a neo-Gothic church of the Vladimir Mother of God, a domed gazebo and three ponds.
After the Great Patriotic War, the park was converted into a tuberculosis sanatorium, and now, unfortunately, due to the dilapidation of the building, it is forbidden to go inside, but we strongly recommend that you admire it from the outside. Entry to the site is free and daily.
Museum estate “Arhangelskoe”

Everyone has probably heard of the Arkhangelskoye museum grounds, and it has already proven itself as an Instagrammable* place, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth special attention in the selection. Since the museum is located in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, getting to it is as easy as shelling pears.
Arkhangelskoye district is rich in spectacles: fountains, marble statues, gazebos and the estate itself. The park, where you can walk non-stop at any time of the year, named the museum “Versailles of the Moscow Region”.
The estate museum is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00 and you will need to pay 150 rubles for entrance.
Ostafyevo Mansion

In 1807, Andrei Vyazemsky built this estate, where NM Karamzin soon began work on the “History of the Russian State”. After Andrey’s death, the house came into the possession of his son, writer Pyotr Vyazemsky, for whom Ostafyevo was the “Russian Parnassus”. That’s what AS Pushkin, one of the many secular guests of the manor, called it.
Besides the Russian Parnassus with its rotunda, the estate is famous for its humpback bridge and monuments to the most distinguished guests of Ostafyevo. You can visit it every day from 8:00 to 23:00 for 100 rubles (free until 10:00).
Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve

“Abramtsevo”, which we will now briefly talk about, has a rich history and you will understand that the museum is absolutely remarkable. Writer SA Aksakov and philanthropist Savva Mamontov were the most famous owners of the estate. NV Gogol, IS Turgenev and FI Tyutchev were there. Under Mamontov, they began to build in Abramtsevo an almost toy Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands and a fairy-tale hut on chicken legs. It served as a bath. There was also a studio-workshop where many famous artists worked.
It was the daughter of the owner of the estate, Savva Mamontov Vera, who became the main character of VA Serov’s painting “Girl with Peaches”.
The museum-reserve is located in the Sergiev Posad urban district in the village of Abramtsevo and is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 (until 18:00 in winter), except Mondays and Tuesdays. Entrance to the park starts from 60 rubles, and entrance to all buildings starts from 500 rubles.
Real estate Ivanovskoe

This estate was the epicenter of gatherings for all secular Moscow, who came to Ivanovskoye for balls. Countess Zakrevskaya from the Tolstoy family was the most respected “host” of all social events, so it is worth visiting the estate, if only to see with your own eyes the most popular place of the 1830s and feel that idle and luxurious atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the estate located in Podolsk is closed for restoration until 2026, but entrance to the area is free.
Marfino Mansion

Check out this castle that we’re sure Barbie wouldn’t mind living in. Marfino stands out not only for its pink color, but also for its sharp pseudo-Gothic towers and layout, because in the center of the site there is not a house, as is customary for everyone, but a pond. The pond even has a beautiful arched bridge.
Also on the grounds is a church built in 1701 by BA Golitsyn, teacher of Peter I, and two gazebos that survived the War of 1812. Everyone needs to visit Marfino as soon as possible because everything outside the house is in pretty deplorable condition.
The estate is located in Mytishchi in the village of Marfino, near Moscow, and the entrance fee is 50 rubles.
Dubrovitsy Manor

Dubrovitsy is guaranteed to be the most beautiful of all churches in the Moscow region, and this is not clickbait. Against its background, the manor loses all its splendor because people go to Podolsk precisely for this church. All this beauty is allegedly the work of Italian architects who built it in the Golitsyn Baroque style. In 1704 the church was consecrated under Peter I.
Entrance to the property located in Podolsk is completely free.
The museum reserve is named “Muranovo Estate”. FI Tyutcheva”

A less magnificent estate, where not only FI Tyutchev’s son lived, but also the Engelhardts, Baratynskys and Putyats. Thanks to the owners and visitors, Muranovo was called the “literary home”. The museum is an example of a medium-sized noble estate of the 19th century. You should definitely visit the interior of Muranovo, where the memoirs of many great Russian writers are stored.
It will not take long to travel – the estate is located in Pushkino in the village of Muranovo, the entrance ticket to the territory costs 60 rubles, and to the building – from 400 rubles. The museum reserve is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
Goncharovs’ estate

This estate was in the possession of AS Pushkin’s mother-in-law, Natalya Goncharova, and by the way, the name of the great poet, who avoided appearing on the estate due to Goncharova’s difficult character, still prevents the transfer of the property. destroyed.
It is worth paying attention to the palatial house, the stone church of John the Baptist and the gates in the form of castle towers located at the entrance to the estate. Now that the building is a sanatorium, you can only enter as a patient, but entrance to the area is free.
You can find the estate in Volokolamsk, in the village of Yaropolets.
