A new creative community and a real thunderous techno frenzy: what do you need to know about “Createkh Fest”?

At MSTU until September 29. NE Bauman, Supermetal area, Artplay design center and Three Stations food centre. Depot” hosts the first “Createch Fest”. This is one of the few events in Russia focused on creative technologies where creativity is combined with science.

The festival program includes more than 50 discussions and workshops on industrial design, urbanism, robotics, sound design and technical production.

Along with “trips to Moscow through the eyes of an engineer”, the final party of “Newton for Dummies” in “Supermetal” with art installations from “Signatura” and musician Nikita Zabelin performing on Tesla coils.

Perhaps the most important feature of the festival is that it is initiated by Baumanka, where the country’s best engineers in the fields of space, mechanical engineering and radio electronics are trained. However, until recently, the issue of creative industries was not actively on the agenda here. Now the university has joined a consortium with Supermetal and Universal University (including the British Graduate School of Design and the Moscow Film School, among others) and is even preparing to create the “Creative Valley in Yauza”.

We talked to the main characters of “Createch Fest” and learned why you should go to this event.

Alexander Gofman is the head of the “Createch” center at Moscow State Technical University. NE Bauman

“As the pioneers of the festival, we are of course responsible for everything that happens and the outcome. My main task is to create a strong and reliable team with which we can undertake new and complex projects.

The first and most important reason for coming to our festival is the opportunity to get to know the fields of creative technologies better or to learn what they are in principle. It will be useful for engineers to visit here to find opportunities to realize themselves in this direction: we will have representatives of various creative companies with whom we can discuss future projects. For technology company executives, this is a great opportunity to get to know the university because we have a strong engineering background that can be very useful to them. Already nearly 50 companies will come to us to look at our research centers and find contact points. “It’s also worth checking out for romantics who want to learn how to make something really cool related to engineering and technology, because there’s a pretty unusual creative community forming here.”

Dmitry Markin, development director of the Supermetal cluster

“When Bauman MSTU invited us to participate in the “Createch Fest”, we offered to take on this project because we are a center of attraction for creative companies (most of our residents are companies from the creative industries environment). The role of integrators. Over the past two months, we have introduced the university to many representatives from the fields of multimedia, technical production, robotics, sound design and created a connection between Baumanka and major brands. We also made a significant contribution to the creation of the program.

Why should you go to the festival? The training program to be attended by managers, technical and creative directors of companies and brands is remarkable. Secondly, to see multimedia installations, including the “Supermetal” lobby – made for the festival by “Signature” and Robohall studios. Thirdly, we plan to scale the festival and make it an annual event, so it is great to witness the emergence of synergy between an engineer and a creator. And of course it’s worth coming to the party, because when else will it be possible to attend a techno party with Tesla coils in “Supermetal”?

Nikita Zabelin, musician and founder of the Resonance association

“I am organizing the final party as one of the representatives of the creative industries at the festival, whose aim is to bring together technology and creativity. I have a Tesla performance project where electricity is used as a sound source. With a little control, the lightning produced by Tesla coils can be adjusted to note and duration. I use several of these coils to create harmony. We will also feature performances by artists from the Resonance creative association – DJs and musicians who will perform electronic live sessions.

Coming to the festival is an opportunity to meet interesting people, learn new things, and imagine how science and technology can be used in creativity. And of course, I hope you have a good time at the party.”

Ilya Ipatov, general producer of the AMI company

“At Createch Fest, our company creates a space where bloggers, media, scientists and students can communicate with each other to popularize science and organizes the “Newton for Dummies” final party. To show how science can infiltrate popular culture, we invited Nikita Zabelin with his chilling techno craze over Tesla coils.

I believe that the festival is a platform for the formation of a new movement that is just beginning to develop in Russia. For progressive businesses, creativity is a way to create added value and introduce their products to the market. “And we invite many businessmen to the festival who will be able to see the current developments and understand how they are implemented,” he said.

You can attend the events for free by pre-registering. Admission to the Newton for Dummies party is also free for festival attendees using the special QR code.
