The Foo Fighters are a band born out of tragedy, formed in 1994 following the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1972 and grew up in Laguna Beach, California.
He leaves behind his wife Alison and their three children.
