It’s not just Gorky: the 10 best parks in Moscow

In order to hide from the sweltering heat predicted by the weather forecasters for us this summer, you need to walk in the parks where there is plenty of greenery and freshness. Believe me, there are many of them in Moscow, and not only Gorky Park, which is always crowded. That is why today we are talking about the picturesque and remarkable parks of the capital. The embankment of the Moscow River, where Filevsky is located, passes into other parks: Voroshilovsky, Soldatenkovsky, Suvorovsky, Moskvoretsky and Krylatsky Hills. That way you have plenty of room to walk, read on the blanket and just relax.

It is not the largest but very cute park known to residents of all surrounding areas. An ideal place for a picnic on the grass.

In winter, this park turns into a place where you can ski on the slopes inside Moscow, and in summer, you can wander for hours and look at the main attraction, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

Serebryany Bor (Khoroshovsky Forest Park)

A place that needs no introduction. We add only that this is a natural monument of regional importance, known since the 17th century.

A small but cozy park is more suitable not for a picnic, but for a quiet evening chat with a friend on the benches overlooking the sunset and the Novodevichy Convent.

Sparrow Hills

Another place that needs no introduction. And although a large-scale reconstruction is underway in the park, it does not continue on the entire embankment, and there are many places to hide from the hustle and bustle and relax in the shade of the trees.

232 hectares of beauty and history dating back to the sixteenth century. Fun fact: Timiryazevsky Park has many amphibians that are rare for Moscow. Basically, different types of frogs.

The park was built for the 1980 Olympics and was ennobled in 2015. Now you can comfortably spend the whole day on the banks of the Smorodinka River.
