Fire in the kitchen: the most beautiful chefs of Russia

Cooks have long been not inferior in popularity to even the most iconic celebrities. Movies and serials are made about them, they are featured on magazine covers, and they are rewarded with special prizes. Agree, the merit list is impressive. But the most important thing is that guests do not stop following their success in the kitchen and are ready to return to restaurants again, just to try new menu items.

We have brought together the most beautiful chefs, which are definitely worth following on social networks. Well, they didn’t forget to mention the names of the restaurants so you know exactly where to look for these chefs.

Vladimir Muhin

Maybe even those who are far from the domestic gastronomy sector know the chief chef of the White Rabbit Family holding. Vladimir Mukhin is a fifth generation chef who started his career at the age of 12 by helping in the kitchen of the restaurant where his father worked. We honestly agree, not all the virtues of Mukhin can be listed. He toured France long before the pandemic and even held a gala dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant Christian Etienne. In 2019, he received the Chef of the Year award at Palm Branch, Russia’s main gastro award. And, of course, he received his own Michelin stars in Moscow restaurants. Therefore, if you suddenly want to try the chef’s dishes, look for him in all the holding’s projects in Moscow and Sochi.

Vladimir Chistyakov

Vladimir Chistyakov is the capital’s most fashionable chef and a great friend of The Fashion Vibes (read our interview with him here). The chef graduated from the famous gastronomy school Ragout. True, to become a cook, she had to go from a psychology student to an assistant on the MTV channel, but that’s another story. You can meet Chistyakov at Grace Bistro, Folk, Rocky 2, Greeks, and at the sensational restaurant of Pinsky, Timati and Creed – Gucci Cafe, where he is also responsible for the menu.

Vitaly Istomin

Vitaly Istomin, former chef of Moscow restaurants Sakhalin and Tekhnikum, is the author of the books Boring Food and Boring Desserts. We are sure that you have definitely seen their recipes on the vastness of social networks. Istomin is one of the main bloggers in the gastronomy industry. Now he is working with Pinsky and his former colleague Artem Losev on the Ava project, which he opened in 2021.

Artem Losev

Artem Losev is one of Moscow’s most famous chefs and is now restaurant operators. He has three projects to his credit: Ava, French bistro Patriki, and Italian restaurant Loona. In addition to the restaurant business, the chef is actively working on his own blog – “Good luck, chef!” where, together with Istomin, the stars of show business come to cook for them. They run the program. In general, the duet Losev and Istomin can easily compete even with the Berezutsky brothers, although they have no advantages in the form of kinship.

Anton Kovalkov

The chef started his professional career in Nizhny Novgorod at the age of 17 and opened his own signature restaurant, The Kitchen by Anton Kovalkov, four years later. The project did not last long, so in the following years Kovalkov did international internships in the best restaurants in the world. After moving to Moscow in 2013, Kovalkov worked on Fahrenheit, 22.13 and Steak it Easy projects. You can now find a chef at Deep Fried Friends and Le Pigeon restaurants.

Mirko Dzago

Mirko Dzago is our answer to Jason Momoa (and don’t say you haven’t thought about it before). Everyone who passes by Patriarch’s Ponds knows the Italian chef because he is in charge of the menu at Bro&N, Aist, Onest. Mirko has been in the kitchen since he was 15 years old. He came to a restaurant to work as a dishwasher in the summer, but eventually dropped out and became a cook. But Mirko also did not intend to linger in Russia, but eventually stayed and even became a member of the Russian Cooks Guild and one of the most beloved Italians in the restaurant industry.
