cardi b AND Deviation coordinated for a night out in the Big Apple on Sunday April 30th. The pair were photographed holding hands as they left a building together in New York City. Cardi wore impossibly high platform shoes and walked them confidently even though she didn’t have heels on. Instead all the support was on the thick sole of her foot.
Her look was completed with a leather coat and layers of pearl necklaces, along with statement earrings. Her hair was slicked back in a low bun and she was wearing sunglasses. Meanwhile, Offset also rocked a leather look, pairing her black jeans and a tee with a biker jacket. She also accessorized with sunglasses and tall boots and gloves to complete her shady look.
Cardi will likely be in NYC ahead of a potential appearance at the 2023 Met Gala on May 1. Cardi previously attended the event in 2022, where she wore a gold gown with intricately designed embellishments placed throughout. The look gave the impression that Cardi was decked out in jewels and was completed with matching gloves and a chunky necklace. Before that, Cardi last attended the Met Gala in 2019 which was his debut at the event.
Cardi has been a rock for Offset in the months since her cousin, Take off, was killed in a shooting in November 2022. While there seemed to be some tension in the couple’s relationship before Takeoff was shot dead, Offset was devastated by news of the rapper’s death. In a January 2023 interview, Cardi opened up about the morning she and Offset found out what happened. “Offset answered the phone and he [was] like ‘Nooo’ and yelling and yelling,” she revealed. “I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ and he said, ‘Takeoff is dead.’”
Cardi admitted that she didn’t even believe her husband at first, saying she was “so scared” by his reaction. “I was crying a lot,” she shared. “It was terrible.” In another interview, which took place in late November, just weeks after Takeoff’s death, Cardi shared more about how Offset was affected by Takeoff’s death. “I felt so desperate trying to make my husband happy,” she admitted. “I try to make him smile. To see him cry at random, to see him try to distract his mind.”
