I don’t want to spoil it, but I’ll say at the end of the tape that I sat down with a sense of disgust and admiration at the same time, asking myself a few questions – in moments the parallels were so bare that it became frightening. And “Spirit of Fire” with renewed vigor ignited in me the love for Russian festival cinema – so close to the truth that it is easily accessible, everything becomes clear even without words.
