Director: King, Jester and Attack on Titan

Director: King, Jester and Attack on Titan

I’m flying towards you on a burning train from Khanty-Mansiysk, apologizing (I hope everyone noticed) that I’ve been missing for a week. What does oil capital have to do with it? He spent the last weekend there for a reason. Yes, and in which company: Yulia Peresild, Sergey Garmash, Anna Mikhalkova, Lyanka Gryu and other movie stars gathered in the center of Ugra at the first international film festival “Spirit of Fire”, which took place from March 3-6. To be honest: it was cold, but I warmed up almost every evening with movies, each of which hit my heart.

My personal favorite was “One Little Night’s Secret” by Natalia Meshchaninova (“My Mother’s Penguins”, “Alice Can’t Wait”) about the drama played out in the life of an ordinary 14-year-old girl. I don’t want to spoil it, but I’ll say at the end of the tape that I sat down with a sense of disgust and admiration at the same time, asking myself a few questions – in moments the parallels were so bare that it became frightening. And “Spirit of Fire” with renewed vigor ignited in me the love for Russian festival cinema – so close to the truth that it is easily accessible, everything becomes clear even without words.

We will mention other news from the last fourteen days without my diary below. Hope everyone had a good time! I – of course, therefore, after my marginal notes, I will take a break for just a few days and return to your broadcasts with the broadcast of the Oscars on the night of March 12-13. Kindly reminder, it’s the main movie award in the world after all.

In preparation for Khanty-Mansiysk, Russian cinemas hosted the premiere of the feature-length “Unprincipled”, which the project director sent all together to the village. I admit that I have not yet had time to evaluate it personally, but the opinions around me differed: some give the film a confident “ten” on a ten-point scale, while others mercilessly scold the project, which has deteriorated throughout its existence. And it showed great promise. That said, nothing out of the ordinary can be expected from the full meter, given the not-so-flattering reviews for the series’ third season. But Slavik, performed by Pavel Derevyanko, will not take care of himself, so he fled in search of tickets for the next sessions.

Nikita Efremov is everywhere lately, which makes me personally happy. “Patient Zero”, “Offline”, the fourth “Kept Women”, “Sisters”, “Tetris” (co-starring with Taron Egerton) and now “Healthy Man” by Pyotr Todorovsky were released on the big screens 2 Marta. By the way, at the MIFF last year, the picture received the silver “Saint George” award for the best film of the “Russian Seasons” competition, but in general this is a story about finding oneself, so everyone should respond . Who will keep the company in the cinema?

As our gossip queen Madina Ibragimova rightly pointed out recently, Russian cinema has begun to ruthlessly exploit all forms of sex. Obviously, on the same wave on March 8, Mikhail Pogosov’s “Escort Girl”, starring Anna Starshenbaum and Dmitry Nagiyev, got into serious trouble in Russian cinemas. The action takes place one night in Moscow and Dubai and draws me to sing: “Night butterfly, well, who’s to blame.”

Sincere: I’ve never been a fan of anime, and even Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpieces once appeared on the show. Even more surprising to me was the frenzied delight caused by Attack on Titan, which once tied Game of Thrones first in the list of the best TV shows of all time. Without exaggeration, this is a real luxury, so I awaited the premiere of the finale with special trepidation and “swallowed” the hour-long episode in one sitting. In summary: Attack on Titan, with all its flaws and charms, remains a perfect parallel to the modern world. I shed tears that the second part will only come out in the fall and I can’t stand the intrigue anymore…

The Russian video hosting rack has arrived: Media1 holding (MUZ-TV, Yu, Solntse) has launched a platform for watching music videos and MUZTUBE news. While the site is in beta mode, key features such as the recommendation system are already available to users. I wish the fate of the Clubhouse, which began for health, does not end for the rest. Do you ever remember this?

“The King and the Jester” claims to be the main series this spring. The series has already set an absolute record for Kinopoisk and whether there will be more, surpassing Zack Snyder’s Justice League. On Thursdays we hold our breath for new episodes, and every Friday we start with impressions of our editor-in-chief, Kira the Anarchist – if the King and the Jester had an ambassador, then he would be an ambassador. And when he is happy.

Cosmonautics Day is just over a month away, and the final trailer for the movie “Challenge” starring Yulia Peresild has been released. And yes, this is the same movie shot in space. It’s a pity you’ll have to watch it in a regular cinema, but given the scale of the premiere, we’ll definitely go. So write!
