A retired pathologist at one of Russia’s top clinics has been arrested for killing and dismembering her grandson’s wife.

“Grandma Ripper” Dr. Svetlana Shilyaeva (66) admitted that she stabbed Yuliya Pazylova (29) while she was taking a shower.

She then dismembered her body, threw her head and pelvis into the reservoir of a dammed river and scattered other body parts nearby in the Tula region.

According to reports of the gruesome case, she “fed the entrails to the dogs.”

The brutal murder took place against the background of strained relations between Yuliya and Shilyaeva and, after a quarrel with the younger woman, led to the fact that Shilyaeva’s husband left.

Shilyaeva, who worked at the Sklifosovsky Institute hospital in Moscow, said in a police video: “I picked up a knife in the kitchen and went to the bathroom.

“What happened in the bathroom?

‘She was [taking a shower] in the bath and I stabbed her twice in the stomach and knee and once…

‘And that was it. She collapsed.

The detective asked, “There was once…?”

The pathologist replied, “The last time? In the heart.’

Pazylova was the wife of her grandson Svyatoslav Pzaylov (22), and they lived in the same house.

Shilyaeva’s relationship with the younger woman is said to be strained.

An argument with Yuliya caused Shilyaeva’s husband to leave the house.

The day after the alleged murder, she told her daughter – Svyatoslav’s mother – Yuliya “will not bother anyone”.

Shilyaeva claimed the woman had disappeared, and initially her husband was suspected.

Blood samples were later found in the house, although the alleged killer had “competently” disposed of the remains.

After taking a lie detector test, she admitted, according to police, “I killed her, dismembered the body and hid the pieces.”

She was detained by a Tula court until February 15 on suspicion of murder.

If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison.
