Ariel Robinson, winner of the reality show’s 20th season, is expected to appear in court on May 9, 2021, for a possible role in Victoria Smith’s death.
To start off, her husband, Jerry Robinson, was found guilty in the death of Smith, the couple’s three-year-old daughter, named “Tori”, earlier this month. His verdict will be announced after Ariel Robinson’s trial. He is expected to testify at the trial.
Prosecutors said the baby died after allegedly bumping into Ariel Robinson at the couple’s home in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
New details of the investigation into the death of a minor emerged at a hearing in Jerry Robinson earlier this month.
Jerry Robinson was found guilty of murder as a result of child abuse / complicity in murder as a result of child abuse. He will remain under house arrest until Ariel Robinson’s trial. Jerry Robinson never physically abused the boy, but told investigators that Ariel beat the boy with various objects, including a belt.
Jerry Robinson told investigators that the final beating came after Smith threw him on his way to church. The next morning, the young woman was punished for not eating the pancakes fast enough. That’s when Ariel Robinson was attacked.
Jerry Robinson told the court that his wife, Ariel Smith, “beaten” the belt and noted that the beating could be heard outside their home. Prosecutors said that when Jerry Robinson came in, he saw Ariel standing over the boy with the belt on, saying, “You have no right to tell me when you’re going to be done.”
Jerry Robinson told Ariel, “You’ve gone too far. I went too far this time.” She said she went to CVS to get liquid Tylenol to remove bruises and gave Smith an Epsom salt bath. But a few hours later, the girl had a heart attack.
Jerry Robinson faces 10 to 20 years in prison.
The Robinsons’ lawyer requested that the trial be closed to the media and the public prior to Ariel’s trial, but the request was denied by the judge. .
Prosecutors requested that seven photographs be allowed in court. Six photos show the boy’s minor injuries, while one of the dissection photos shows internal bleeding that led to his death.
Prosecutors said Ariel Robinson committed the insult by showing “extreme disrespect for human life”.
Robinson is the winner of the 20th season of Food Network America’s Worst Chefs. Upon hearing the news of his arrest, the network removed the division from all its platforms.
